This is a slim book and a quick read, but I give it a hefty 5 stars because it succeeds in fulfilling its goal: to remind us that there is goodness in the world and to inspire us to step forward when we see a need and have the power to do something about it. Rather than put this away on a bookshelf now that I've read it, I think I shall keep it on display where the cover will remind me that there is good news out there, whenever I might get depressed over the bad stuff I see on TV. I have been following the Good News Network on Facebook and often share the reports with others. This book highlights some of the best stories over the years. I loved them all. These are mostly about ordinary people doing good deeds, but from now on, whenever I see Robert Downey, Jr. in a movie, I know I will recall his lovely gesture of kindness to an elderly woman who had injured herself. This book would make a great gift.

Wonderful book. Well written, inspiring and refreshing. Reaffirms how many great people there are out there - really, the majority. Each story is a mini-TED talk. Also provides a guide to personal leadership and the critical role of goodwill in our lives - as givers and receivers.

This book is so thin, with so few stories, I can't believe I fell for buying it at that price when it doesn't offer much. :(

This book would be a great item just to buy for yourself or give as a gift. It makes you feel good. I love to read the stories on the Good News Network (which is where I heard about the book). To bring a smile to your face or get a compliment for a great gift, get this book anytime of the year. I do recommend the book.

I bought multiple copies of this book to give as holiday gifts to people I work with. It's full of positive, uplifting stories. They said they enjoyed them.

In this world filled with bad news...this good Uplifting Encouraging Authentic news is the best!!

This is a nice uplifting book and is great for people feeling overwhelmed by the times. However, if you follow the Good News page on Facebook, you will have read all these stories already. I follow them on Facebook and there was nothing new in this book, so I gave it to a friend who had just lost her husband. She loved it.

Loved the way the stories are just a page or 2 each, easy to read, put down and pick up again later.

This book compiles the author's favorite GNN stories from the last 20 years and it does not disappoint. Each one is just long enough to grant us a smile and as a whole they demonstrate that there is a lot of good in this world. In a time where the daily news can be polarizing, divisive, and gloomy, this book reminds us that people are generally good and truly care about one another. Highly recommend it!

Fun little upbeat book

I bought this as a birthday gift for my beloved uncle who spends too much time listening to mainstream news. I wanted to prove to him that there is much good news in the world. But I can't do that with this flimsy book that has so few stories to show for 20 years.
