In 1977 a ski patrolman came up with an idea for an eyewear retainer that would grip his shades through all kinds of alpine adventures. He grabbed an old wetsuit, some sharp scissors, and a good idea, then he made the first pair of eyewear retainers. The ingenious device was based on the design of a Chinese finger trap. Croakies are produced in the USA at their production facility in Bozeman, Montana. Having been used by all types of people, doing all kinds of activities all over the world, Croakies were then introduced to SPACE. It broke fast
It worked nicely when it wasn't broke. I bought this for a kayaking trip and it worked well but neat the end or the trip I went to put it on again and one clip fell apart. the pin that held the clip together fell out. I tried to put it back together but my fat old fingers got too frustrated. When it did work it saved my hat several times. even once on a 4 wheeler.

Good quality and light. Happy to have ohs for sailing, kiting, jeeping around the island. Will buy more of these as stocking stuffer.
