be careful when you replace an existing feeder
ok folks this may be a strange one .... review of product star rate is low..BUT..it doesn't reflect directly on the products build quality or delivery time, both of which were good. however. I have replaced bird feeders many times over 20 years, but the first time i have replaced with anything but a green coloured feeder. .. to my surprise the birds will absolutely not eat from this feeder at all. i have waited 2 months to do this review to experiment and to be sure i am not as stupid as i could be, BUT the birds, bless them, know what they like and what they dont. i have also hung an old green one next to the new silver one, with the same food in each and the birds will only eat form the old knackered one. nature is a funny old thing....

Technically good, but birds cant feed from them!
So it may be odd to give glowing praise to a product in terms of construction/ build quality (flawless), design (they look great) and "service" (product were EXACTLY as described and arrived quickly and well packed) - but:Critical issue; none of my regular avian visitors can actually get anything to eat from them. The holes are an appropriate size, but the way the feed ports are designed, theres a sort of metal "lip" inside that prevents the birds getting access to the seed. Even the tiny finches cant get their breakfast, let alone the slightly chunkier sparrows and the big beefy bullfinches!I got confused as to why my garden has been full of birds, but the feeders havent reduced in volume at all in three days (the old set these were replacing would usually be at least half empty by now) - until I investigated the feeders and saw this issue - so its not something you could tell from the images or description.Maybe this isnt a common issue, maybe my birds are all slightly thick - but basically these feeders are completely useless for me. Shame, as they are VERY well made otherwise.

Squirrel proof so far
Good purchaseWe have up to 9 squirrels at a time in our garden. I love watching them but they do have a habit of destroying feeders to get to the bottom of food is running low. With the plastic ones I have bought in the past they just make themselves a larger hole then the food pours out. These have metal portholes and the squirrels don’t seem to be able to destroy them. They now have to stick to their own feeding stations and the small birds can enjoy these new ones

Nice looking design but quickly destroyed by squirrel
These arrived in great condition, and look good. The birds in my garden liked feeding from them too. Unfortunately, so does the grey squirrel who comes to my feeder frequently. The plastic perches for the birds were chewed and destroyed within two weeks. So, that’s two feeders wrecked. Birds will have to queue for a while again until I get replacements, this time with metal fittings throughout. Can’t see much wrong with them if you don’t have any squirrels, but beware if you do - they will be wrecked in no time.

Very poor quality
I bought these feeders to replace my existing plastic feeders that had been destroyed by the resident squirrel. I thought that the fittings were made of metal and when they arrived the fittings around the feeding holes looked like metal.Unfortunately they are made of plastic and they are already falling apart having been attacked by the squirrel. This is a real shame as they appeared to be good value for money.I am going to have to invest in some new feeders that have metal fittings around the feeding holes.

Best Seed Feeder I have ever bought
These are large, sturdy, well made feeders, and extremely good value for money. The birds were a little reluctant at first, but I let the other feeders empty, then they soon got used to them. I have just refilled them and put them out, and the birds went straight to them. I would definitely buy them again.

Check before unpacking
I ordered two seed feeders. Opened the first one but when I went to open the second, it turned out to be a peanut feeder - the last thing I needed! Check both before ripping off the packaging!Otherwise the products seem well made and sturdy.

Very sturdy and birds find it easy to use.
Very sturdy construction with plastic tube and all other parts being metal. Completely comes apart for cleaning although you need a screwdriver and pliers.Birds find it easy to use.
