Great looking, great working, great sounding
I was kind of skeptical to buy an amplifier online, because honestly, I usually get ripped off when buying electronics online. I read the reviews, and trusted them in good faith. I am glad I did. This amplifier is easy to set up, and it works great. I have two 12" Diamond Audio subs mounted in a custom built box (not sure what model, all I know is they sound good, they are loud, and they are worth about $600 each. I think they're the HP12). This amp absolutely SLAMS these 12's. I have a certain subwoofer test that honestly makes it a little difficult to breathe when sitting in the car (Jeep Liberty). Not only is it strong, but it is clean, crisp, and clear. Also, for lack of a better way to say it, this amp looks cool as hell when it turns on...I can't really think of anything bad about this amp, other than it might blow your subs if you aren't careful... There have been a few times when the subs stopped working, and I figured it was the amp burning out. No, it was a wire in the sub box getting charred from all the energy being passed through it.Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Pleasantly Surprised
I have to admit that the price of this amp had me thinking only one thing before I decided to take a gamble and purchase it anyway, to good to be true. Fortunately for me and my wallet, I was wrong. When I received this amp from Amazon my initial suspicions of "too good to be true" became evident right away. This amp requires you to remove a metal bar off each end of the amp with a supplied allen wrench in order to wire it. This is not unusual, I've had quite a few other amps in my history that have required such things. The main issue with this is that the nuts that I needed to loosen with the allen wrench seemed to be stripped. I managed to get 1 of the 4 nuts loosened with the wrench and out of frustration I took my drill to the other 3. So basically, I will not be putting the bars back on the amp. So I wired up my amp and turned on my system and much to my surprise a giant fireball did not emanate from the amp. (I can be a bit of a pessimist from time to time). In fact I was pleasantly surprised at how much power this amp does have. By the way, this amp will not accept 0 gauge wire. I believe it will only take 4 gauge. I have this amp pushing 2 15" Kicker L5's. My subs are rated 750 RMS/1500 max EACH. It is a 4ohm DVC load wired parallel to 1ohm. And I have yet to feel the need to turn the input or the bass boost on this amp up all the way. My input is about 3/4 of the way up, and my bass boost may be slightly less turned up and it provided plenty of bass. I have all my stock speakers replaced with custom speakers (all amplified) and again, this amp does a great job with supplying the needed bass to accommodate. So to summarize all of my gibberish, I would certainly recommend purchasing this amp. Esp for novice or amateur audio system fans like myself who have some nice quality 12's or 15's they need to push. I'm not a audio expert and I'm aware that some other reviewers have claimed that this amp is not capable of producing what is says it can produce. I don't know if that is true or not. All I will say is don't underestimate it's power. If it claims that it can put out more rms than your sub woofers can handle than assume it's true, and start out with your amp inputs turned down and adjust accordingly. When you consider the prices of other similar wattage amplifiers (if you can find any) of what is to be considered high end or more popular name brands like Rockford Fosgate or Kicker, this amp is a steal. If I were picky I might knock this amp down a star or even half a star for the issues with the allen wrench and the fact that it will not accept 0 gauge wire but I'm not. All I really care about is if it sounds good. And if it thuds. And it certainly thuds..

Awesome for the price
Although this is kind of a off brand amp, It provides plenty of power and had been great for me so far. About a month after I bought it, it blew, taking one of my new subs with it. I was bent. But I blamed the shop that hooked it up more then I did the product. I rolled around for 7 months with no system, super upset thinking I just wasted a ton of money. One day I got bored and thought I'd see what it would cost to repair, come to find out, the whole thing is under warranty and they fixed it for free (I just had to pay shipping) and got it back to me in about 10 days. I had it installed by best buy this time and they did an awesome job, haven't had a problem since.Great customer service.Although I do feel the amp could use a bigger fan. Its big, solid metal and gets very hot. Protection shut off has happened twice. No complaints other then that and Im not sure how valid that is, in my experience, every amp gets hot and 5000 watts is a lot of power.

Good Sounding AMP, reliability issues
okay, so i have had this amp for less than a year now, when i first put it in, it sounded great, i am driving two 4 Ohm 10" MTX subs with it connected in parrallel.I got the 5000 W version of this to pretty much guarantee it wouldn't burn up as i am not pushing it anywhere near its rated output.well last month i noticed it started sounding muffled, and then it would intermittently do a protection shutdown. I have worked on audio gear alot over the last 30 years, so i pulled the back plate off, and discovered that two of the 5 power supply caps had burst/melted and spewed there contents all over the inside of the amp. the caps are a cheap Chinese brand, and are only rated at 80 V, assuming the power supply rails are running at 50 v, these are severely underrated. a general rule of thumb is to usually overate the voltage by 2 minimum, so these should at least should have been rated at 100V.so the build quality/construction of the amp is good in my opinion, but the design and part selection is poor. I have ordered some replacement 100v caps and am going to fix mine. I will post a follow up if there are more issues after doing this.

Great value and much higher quality than expected.
Hey everyone. This amp actually performs very well. While tuning I know I saw over 60volts. No way this thing ever puts out 5000w, honestly I bet it does half that. I took it apart just look at the inside. This is a very dense amp with an excellent quality inside. It doesn't look cheap or like I would expect the boss to look on the inside, or the outside for that matter. The Phantom line is Boss's top of the line stuff though. This thing weighs 15 pounds which is much heavier than your average cheap amp. I have a kicker KX 2400.1 and it weighs the same thing. The kicker does perform much better though. Bang for the buck the Boss Phantom PH5000D has the Kicker KX2400 beat. But again, the Kicker amp way outperforms this boss. But you can also by about 5 of these Boss amplifiers for one of the kickers!

There is a fan internally to cool off the coils as well as thermistors to shut ...
For the price, this amp is really impressive. I've read on other sites that this amp gets hot. No kidding, what the heck do you expect. It's pushing serious wattage. There is a fan internally to cool off the coils as well as thermistors to shut the amp down if it overheats, never had that happen to me.The only drawback are the speaker terminals, they're a little small for dual 10 AWG cables. The power connections are much better. Yes, you need a supercap if you want to crank this puppy otherwise you will get a voltage drop when the subs thump unless you're running some VERY serious wire. Even still, you'll be killing your alternator in short order.I went for the new generation supercaps which give me 4.5F @ 16V. I can start my car off them (tried it). The only drawback is I can't tell if my battery is dead unless the car sits there long enough for the supercaps to discharge to the point where the engine won't turn over.I'm currently running 2x P156VDC's in parallel wired for 8 ohms each with a custom box in my hatchback. Took a bit of calculating and experimentation to get things right. But I've had no problems.I've had people laugh because I have BOSS in the car. After hearing the bass, they gained new respect for the company. You have to know what you're doing with big sound in a small car. You don't have to spend a fortune to have good sound.I've played with both ported and sealed boxes. I went through 4 designs so far, trying to get fit and function. The latest has the smallest box that's not ported. It's OK up to a certain power then things go down fast. I'll keep playing with the designs...

ハイパワー
P156DVCを二発動かしています。サイズは大きい方かと…非常にハイパワーなのでかなり重低音を出せます。
