I love the sounds of the alarm. There are a couple of choices, all of them sound very pretty. It is nice to wake up to bird sounds instead of beeps. It keeps perfect time.

Descriptions and reviews are all over the place for power source. Mine requires 3 AAA batteries
I have had the green version for years and it is my favorite clock. This wood color is even cuter and, I thought based on the description, that it would take 1 AAA battery and justify buying an upgraded version. Well, when it arrived it was exactly the same as the green one and takes 3 AAA. Still love this clock though.

Can’t go wrong
I gave this as a Valentines gift. My fiancé loved it. He loved the bird sounds since his cell phone doesn’t wake him up well!

Impossibly cute clock
Pricy, but it's a Seiko movement. I wanted a simple, analog clock for the bedroom so that I could reduce the number of electronic/digital devices in there. As well, I'm in a rural area and power outages are frequent, which makes electric alarm clocks unreliable if it happens in the middle of the night. The clock operates silently and keeps accurate time so far. I like the fact that it has a sweep second hand.The birdsong alarms are wonderful with a small dial to customize the volume to your needs. As there isn't a distinction between AM and PM, you will have to shut the alarm off upon waking with the toggle switch in the back, and remember to turn it back on before going to sleep--I'm a bit concerned that the contacts of the switch will wear out eventually, but time will tell. It appears that the back panel can be opened so that it could possibly be worked on if it ever needs repair. I absolutely love the kitschy look of this clock, and am happy I found it.

Good clock but came with dead batteries
Sounds are nice, setting time is simple, alarm sounds every 12 hours if you don't turn it off, initally thought it was broken because it came with dead batteries.

What I wanted
The clock arrived before expected which was a nice surprise. Tried it out for the first time this morning and it worked perfectly. The birdsong was a pleasant sound to wake up to. I like that there is the option to adjust the alarm volume. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I am in love with my alarm clock. I can set to the cuckoo tome or bird tone or just normal alarm tone but the cuckoo tone is my favourite.

Stopped working after 2-foot drop onto a mat
Very cute and the bird sounds are lovely but the clock stopped after dropping 2 feet onto a mat.Quite disappointing. Not what I expected from Seiko. Hope I can get a refund,

Love my clock but it is not completely silent
So I love this clock as it looks cute, tells the time, the birds instead of beeps is a lovely way to wake up but it is not completely silent. It claims to be silent as the second hand sweeps like an automatic watch but instead of a tick...tick...tick...its more of a gentle motor running sort of sound. Now, during the day it is inaudible but at night it can be heard. My clock is about 40cm away from my head. Having said that, I think I have only really noticed it when im trying to sleep about once or twice as it is constant and not irritating like a ticking clock. I have given it 5 stars as it is a lovely clock and the slight sound is fine for me.
