Cuisinart7111-20 Chef's Classic Stainless Universal Double Boiler with Cover

I used it to make banana pudding base. I like that the pan is graduated in size to 2, 3 and 4 quart pans as a double boiler insert.

I love it! I ordered this trying to find a double boiler around the same size as the my mother has and found this one that was a slightly bigger, and that is by no means a bad thing. The quality is great and I love the fact that it comes with a lid

It fits several of my pots and cleans up easy. I wish I'd had it sooner.

I ordered this double boiler to use to prepare the milk in making yoghurt. It functions well. But I used it once before realizing a lid came with it, opps, would have saved me some time bringing the milk up to temp.It works well and fits a 3 QT sauce pan (from KMart) perfectly snug. It is highly polished which is cool.In reviewing this product as part of the Cuisinart Chef's Classing line I wanted to comment on the comparisons to high price lines like All Clad that some have made for this Cuisinart line. Make no mistake, the quality is not on the level of All Clad at all. None the less, it is pretty decent and if you treat is decently it should last a lifetime and do the job for you. And All Clad costs an arm and a leg. The only piece of All Clad I have was a gift from good friends I cook with regularly. Their annual income is about three times mine.People rave about the prices. The prices are ok but not at all mind boggling. For example the sauce pan I mentioned above from KMART has the same side wall thickness and detail in the same stainless steel. It has a better glass lid which allows you to see what is happening in the pot which I find preferrable. The KMART sauce pan also has the encapsulated aluminum heat disk. And the sauce pan was about the same price at this piece which is merely stamped stainless with no heat pad, and no see through lid. I think droppint the price of this item 7 or 8 bucks from the $31 plus I paid would be a far more acceptable price point.That said I have ordered two other pieces, the 1 1/2 QT sauce pan which I will use daily, and the 3.5 Quart sauce pan with extra handle which I will also use regularly. They are worth taking care of. But don't make the mistake of thinking they are comparable to All Clad and don't think the apparent discount off list is fantastic.In the end, I will use these regularly and not complain, but at a better price point I would be even happier, :-)

Was a gift for my brother and his fiance for Christmas, they love it.The double boiler fit perfectly in the Cuisinart 7193-20 Stainless 3-Quart Saucepan, and make for some very nice looking cookware. I have to agree with some of the other comments here, the bottom of the pot is concave, don't expect to be able to put it on the stove on its own, or set it down on the counter without it rolling around a bit.They used it to heat some chocolate to drizzle on some sweets and the heat distribution was great, no burnt chocolate and not too much waste. Build quality is solid, it will outlive my brother assuming he takes care of it.

I was nervous about ordering an insert, but it fits well in several different sizes of pans. It's quality workmanship and cleans up easily. It arrived on a day that I was planning to melt chocolate and dip dozens of buckeyes for the holidays. I gave it a good workout and fell in love with it. Recommend highly.

Do I even have to write a review? It's a double boiler, it can't fail unless you do. I received this very inexpensive, quality double boiler a full day earlier than expected, and was able to surprise my lady with chocolate covered strawberries two full days before Mother's Day. Boom.Think about that: For the price of a bouquet of the same thing from Edible Arrangements, I got all that and a double boiler.The bottom line is, I would recommend this product to you.

The old adage "Buy Well, Buy Once" certainly applies to the double boiler. When one only needs the Top part of this arrangement with plenty of volume to accommodate things like 7-minute Frosting, THIS is the only one that I have found that fits the bill. It is absolutely true to the measurements given in the description, has a long handle that is riveted to the pan and comes with a stainless steel lid.

An excellent size and a nice snug fit with my saucepan, and if bright and shiny - oops! Sorry! I was momentarily dazzled by the last rays of the setting sun bouncing off the lid. As I was saying before I so rudely interupted, if bright and shiny makes us better cooks, Gordon Ramsey better look to his laurels. (I don't know exactly what laurels are, but I'm sure they'll taste delicious once he's worked his magic on them.)A very useful piece of kit and well made, though perhaps not quite as well as the manufacturer's blurb would lead you to believe. Hence the four stars instead of five.

It doesn't sit properly on my (modern, 20cm) saucepan.It slumps to one side, even when filled so you have to hold it with one hand and stir with the other.
