This did fit on my Canon G1X... never used it though, ended up purchasing a new Canon camera. Do your research prior to purchasing ANY add-on lenses for your camera. Some are NOT built for extra lenses. Go to your Camera's web site and make certain your camera is built for extra lenses.

Yes
I have a G1X and needed a lens hood since the camera doesn't come with one. I feared getting this one, thinking it wouldn't fit properly. But it threads on perfectly. Great buy for the price.
