I work in Retail Security and this little alarm comes in handy should a situation occur within the store! The alarm is incredibly loud at 120 dcb and, with the flashing light on, people can see that it's always on my person. In a small enclosed space it is ear-piercing after a few seconds. Out in the street the sound travels so far that, even when its right in your hand, it sounds like you're hearing it from further up the street!

I use this at work and for walking. The alarm has a very distinct sound. It is an extremely loud shrill chirping sound. The unit is small, compact (fits in my hand), and very easy to use. The left side button is the on/off for the alarm. The right side button is for the green LED light. When the alarm is activated the LED light flashes red, green, white. The light alone is green and flashes fast, slow and always on. The light is small in size but is very bright in the darkness. There is a very sturdy clip on the back that will attach to almost anything. The black colored one has a small opening in the clip to access the screw, to which you can attach a small carabiner. The pink colored one does not have a small opening on the clip as the clip does not cover the screw. The screw to open the back is very soft metal, you need short easy turns to get it to open as the screw will strip easily. The unit comes with 4 x LR44 (#357 size) batteries already installed. The black one has a safety strip between the batteries the you can pull out from the outside of the unit. The pink one you have to pull the back off to access the safety strip. When you push the button for the alarm or the light you will feel a 'click'. You don't need to push hard. As for accidentally activating the alarm, not likely, it depends on how you grab the unit. This is a terrific product, I have bought several, I prefer the pink colored one. Safety first.........

My first one I had to return b/c I had such a hard time with the screw, it is incredibly soft metal as others have mentioned in their reviews. The second one I was prepared for...when removing the screw you need to use some finesse...use small quick little jolts to get it going and push down hard on it to keep the screwdriver from moving and ruining the shape of the screw. I make jewelry so I also dipped the screwdriver in a silicone coating but you could use a tissue on the end of the driver to soften the turns. Then put it back on lightly (it is a long screw so no need to worry about losing it)! Once you get it off initially your are good to go, and Amazon is great with returns...I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this one.The green light works like a charm. It looks great, is bright and I love that it can stay on, flash slow or flash faster depending on your needs/situation. The clip is sturdy and tight so no movement after you clip it on or worrying about losing somewhere along the trail.As far as the sound goes it is impressive: ear piercingly loud. It makes your brain feel like its vibrating, definitely an effective pitch. Super easy to activate and de-activate.I will be purchasing a second one so that I have one for the top of each calve compression sleeve (works on shoes too), safety lights on both sides and no harm in having 2 alarms on your person just in case.
