I purchased this product to soundproof outlet and switch boxes for a basement remodel that I am doing. I have not used the name brand product, so I can't compare it to that. I found it easy enough to use. It did take a little effort to separate the sheets at first, but I soon was able to get the sheets apart in just a matter of seconds. They conform fairly easily to the boxes, but as another reviewer mentioned, a slightly larger sheet would make things a little easier. In short, I found them useful and easy enough to work with that I purchased a second box of sheets to finish the project.How much sound proofing they will actually provide, I don't know and have no way of telling. But I do think that they will be better than nothing.

Was building an audio production studio and used these to help block the possibility of sound leaking through the wall. Easy to apply and was a bit more reasonably priced compared to those available local to me.

The worst product ever received, it delayed my dry wall installation by a day. It came on a zip lock back, it would not peel on to desperate sheets as stated for the individual outlets. Save your money and by a better product for a little more. I threw away the entire product and has to go to Home Depot to purchase a better product! Lost a full day of dry wall installation and several hundred dollar because of the ATS. I will never purchase any of their products , consumer beware! Purchase a well know proven product , Lesson learned the hard way .

Just put these up in our basement theater, but was disappointed to find that only 9 of 10 were useable due to poor packaging. There is a layer between each pad to prevent them from sticking to each other, but no layer in front of the first pad which stuck to the plastic baggie.

I absolutely love this stuff! There are so many uses other than the intended use of placing it on the back of receptacle and switch boxes.I've used this inside of devices to make them quieter (and heavier). See the image of a flip clock that was in need of silencing, stopped the sound from reverberating through the plastic housing.

Great sound insulation, great for covering up small holes in walls
