In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3

An epic adventure in music
When it comes to the 5 Coheed albums out so far, I rank them in the following order:1. No World for Tomorrow2. In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 33. Year of the Black Rainbow4. Second Stage Turbine Blade5. I'm Burning Star IV (which by no means suggests this is a bad album)Coheed albums work best when you listen to the songs in order. This one, as a couple others, is bookended by an instrumental (The Ring in Return) and a "B Side" (2113). While both are good, they are kind of secondary. In Keeping Secrets has starts with an epic space battle (In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth) and ends in a solemn prayer for help in the coming days of terror (The Light and the Glass). It progresses much in the way of a good story, with hard action "scenes" and lulls to take a breather, all while moving toward a climactic finish (The Camper Velourium, which in itself is a contained epic).Musically, this seems to be one of C&C's more cohesive works. The songs are well written with plenty of sing-along hooks (If you've never heard the title track live, you need to get to a Coheed show ASAP or at least buy the Neverender DVD). If you want to get a taste of Coheed and Cambria at their finest, this album is a good start.

Nothing Beats Coheed & Cambria Albums
Except C&C live. I am getting toward the older side of music appreciation, and there have been very few bands whose videos or songs I heard once and had to buy, and A Favor House Atlantic joined the company of Welcome to the Jungle and Cemetery Gates in that exclusive club. But I am nearing 40 and on permanent pain medication, so it takes a lot to get me to a concert these days. But I was at the Chicago concert where C&C did their first acoustic set ever, and it was the second best concert I've been to, and I've seen many.So they are coming back around here and playing a small general admission place, and now I need to get a new copy of SSE3 to replace the one "borrowed" by a friend in anticipation.Anyway, buy the albums, go to the shows, everything music should be.(Best concert was David Bowie's 50th birthday concert with an amazing list of guests, once-in-a-lifetime thing that's tough to beat)

My favorite album from Coheed and Cambria
Like many of their albums, this is a great album to just hit play and sit back and enjoy. This is my favorite album from Coheed and Cambria and where it separates from the others is that there a couple of tracks I like to listen to individually instead of as a whole album. You know which track in particular... "A Favor House Atlantic" in my opinion, is their best song, and seeing how often it is downloaded, I know I am not alone in that opinion. Nothing against "Welcome Home", but I think Rockband inflated the popularity of that song a few years ago. Favor is way, way better. Fact, not opinion. Okay, its an opinion, but who cares? It's a fantastic song on a great album. I haven't been as thrilled with their albums after their first 3 works.

I love the sound of this new remaster - the drums ...
One of my all time favorites. I love the sound of this new remaster - the drums feel much more present in the mix, particularly the kick and snare. I had a little skating issue with "Blood Red Summer", but after a few plays this worked itself out. If you're into color variants, there is a cloudy-gray version from one of the band's merch vendors still available.

Best Coheed and Cambria Album
This is my favorite Coheed and Cambria album, track after track of awesomeness and technical skill. Their sound is incredibly complex and the musicianship is on such a high level; it's not for everyone but I'm a sucker for it. I'm glad it was recorded in such high quality; listening to the real album through quality hi-fi speakers just makes you appreciate the layers of musical depth the group has. If you have this album on MP3, you should consider listening to it in lossless form. All the songs are great, but among them my favorites are Velorioum Camper II, Three Evils and Blood Red Summer. Can't wait for the new album to come out.

Great package and album, sub-par quality LP pressing
Great quality packaging, was super excited to receive it and this carried over up until "Blood Red Summer" played. All 4 sides of the 2 LP set are riddled randomly with overblown sibilance that sounds distorted and blown out, at first I thought maybe something was up with my stylus or set up. After adjusting everything several times, replacing the stylus, cleaning the vinyl as much as possible, its still there. So in frustration I Google the issue and apparently its wide spread and this vinyl release is knob to have major quality control issues. People who have sent them back got albums with varying quality, in some cases the replacement was worse but very few were apparently better but rather just suffering from the same issues in different sections of songs.Great album pressed subpar, worth it probably still for hardcore fans but everyone else should steer clear.

Coheed And Cambria - In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
Coheed And Cambria's second studio album `In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3' was released in 2003 and saw the band's popularity begin to rise, on the backs of the albums hit songs `A Favour House Atlantic,' and `Blood Red Summer,' which gave the band some well deserved media exposure. With this album; the band's music became more progressive than on their debut, songs lengths expanded and the music became more intricate and complex. If you have only heard the band's later work, it may take a good few listens to adjust to the style and production, but ensure that you give it a good few listens, you'll be well rewarded.Highlight moments include the amazing concert favourite title track `In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3,' which at eight minutes in length is still one of Coheed's most impressive songs to date. Other highlights include the fierce `The Crowing,' and all three sections of `The Velorium Camper,' which is split across three cd tracks, telling the tale of Al the Killer and his gun in a musically exciting way.To conclude; no Coheed And Cambria fan should be without this album, from the amazing musicianship and unique songwriting to Claudio's vocal performance, this is a superb album that still makes up a large part of the band's live show and many fans still cite it as their favourite Coheed album. Buy it and find out why.

In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3
As all of Coheed and Cambria's music is a mixture of Prog and Metal with some twists and turns thrown in for good measure with glorious tracks such as A Favor House Atlantic and Blood Red Summer with some great vocals from Claudio Sanchez. Enjoy.

Unique
I'm into Rockabilly and 50's lifestyle, but a friend got me into Coheed and Cambria and now I have everything they have recorded. These guys are so very different to anything else. The vocals and composition of all their music is so unique.

Great album!
I love this album! There are several tracks a few seconds long each filled with silence, but that's fine. I love the tune used in some of the songs (mainly The Ring In Return). Coheed fans, buy this!
