Original title: "Really used..." but pls see my edit
The shipment came w/o any delays but the the book is certainly worn. The first few pages are ready to come out of the binding. One page near the center was crumpled. The first 50 or so pages have a corner bent and to turn the pages I have to pull them out of that bend. The front cover has several creases too. Overall, it's really showing it's wear. I'll be keeping it only because of the price but I will avoid buying from this seller in the future if I can.Edit: Apologies, I posted the seller's review above. My error, sorry. :(As to the book's actual content: I don't consider this to be an introduction to philosophy at all. This book simply offers opposing views on thorny issues that can't be answered with philosophy or any other reasoning humans know of. That isn't to say that there aren't some excellent readings in it and if that's all you're looking for then you'll get your money's worth. However, if you really want to know about philosophy itself, how it came to be, evolved, etc., then you're not going to get it from this book.

Required for my course, but I'm not going to turn around and sell it when course is over
I had to purchase this book for my intro to philosophy class. We didn't go through the whole book. I find a lot of the articles so interesting and challenging that I'm not going to sell it, I'm going to keep it and read the rest of the book!

Needed this for class
This was the correct book I needed for my class. It is way more expensive to buy at the campus book store. Did not arrive damaged so this is a good buy.

Basic concepts and ideas are not presented in easy to understand and relatable ways
I needed this for a class and it is downright awful. The text doesn't flow well and is difficult to understand. Basic concepts and ideas are not presented in easy to understand and relatable ways. Quotes are taken from philosophy text that rambles on and on needlessly. I love philosophy and bought this book instead of renting because I thought it would be nice to have but I can't wait to finish the course and sell this terrible piece of garbage.

Dependable Standard
This is a textbook for an elective course at a local university. I have begun reading it and it appears to have solid foundation and dependable sources. It came in the condition promised.
