5 Star Paperclips Metal Large 33mm Assorted Colours [Pack of 10x100]

Another reviewer has pretty much covered the colour choices. I just wish to add that these paperclips are far superior to the Rexel equivalents that I have been using for more than 10 years. These 5 Star Office ones (Code 503344) have a much better grip. I put this down to their plastic matt 'casing' as opposed to the Rexel ones which are coated with a hard shiny paint - I was regularly finding them on the floor or in drawers where they had popped off the papers.One point to be aware of. Where they have been cut at the ends the metal protrudes out of the plastic casing in a number of mine and can be quite rough. This is probably inherent in all such designs. Not life-threatening and I haven't damaged any papers yet.Later Note: Since the above was written someone has suggested in a comment that these are a burden on the ecosystem "what with paint fumes and all during manufacture". I don't know anything about their manufacture or whether this comment should be taken seriously but these are plastic coated not painted (though maybe the dyes pose a risk).After a bit of searching online I found a website called the "Center for Health, Environment and Justice" (chej) - it's American but it explains things very clearly - which says PVC plastic is known as "the poison plastic" and "poses a real threat to all". Lots of other sites confirmed its toxicity. The chej says most coloured paperclips are coated in PVC so IF these ones are then there may be some danger in using them. I have therefore added a caution to the title and downgraded the stars rating but only by 1 star because......as we are surrounded in modern life by innumerable items that are painted and/or contain PVC I guess paperclips are just the tip of the iceberg. Personally, I shall continue to use these paperclips and reiterate that they are better for gripping paper than the painted ones, but you must decide for yourself whether to buy these or, as the chej says, the "safe alternative" of plain metal ones.

It is always difficult to get the choice of paperclip colour just right. This 5-Star pack of 100 large paperclips (and you get ten packs of 100 clips, so this offers exceedingly good value for money) contains a variety of colours from which the perfect 'one' is sure to be found. From the girly powder pink to the masculine blue, dangerous red, colourful green or just a cheery yellow, they are all catered for. Oh, you also get black and white. A colour to suit every occasion from the austere to the jolly. Quite a choice and, just remember, your final decision about the paperclip you use says quite a lot.The only thing to add is that the paperclips are well constructed and up to the job for which they are intended, which is securely holding a clump of paperwork together.

Nice paperclips, although calling them large was very misleading, they are standard size. Of course it states 35 mm in size but who measures paperclips before you buy them? I assumed (wrongly) that they were bigger than average but they weren't

Our Xray department was desperate for paperclips and our hospital had no money for paperclips. I made a few people giggle when I handed them over as a gift.

Very good quality products for a very good price. Paper clips do what they are supposed to do. Would buy it again.
