Landmann USA 32948 Smoky Mountain Electric Smoker, 26"

For the price this is a great little smoker. There are things that could be better, but that would make it cost as much as the more expensive smokers on the market. Only real problem that I saw was a design flaw on the latch. After opening and closing a few times, the spring came out of alignment due to the piece that holds it in place has a slit in the back so that it can be put on in production. After a few minutes I was able to fix but just need to open the latch a little more carefully to avoid this problem. Other reviews complained about the Styrofoam particles from the packing. If you remove slowly it will minimize that problem. Door does not have a gasket to seal but this is not a real big issue since the smoke port in the back is very small. I did not have any issues with losing temperature. Two whole chickens took about 4 to 4 1/2 hours on high. This was also on a cool and windy day so make sure to use a thermometer. I put a piece of cardboard under the smoker in case of leakage onto the porch. Not a drop. I think that other people may have had their drip pan full of water and the meat had a lot of drippings and caused an overflow. I didn't put much water in mine to allow for the run off drippings from the meat and all was well. Power cord was heavier duty than I expected too. When considering this smoker, keep expectations in line with the price and you will love it. Can't wait to make something else in it today.

I bought this to have an initial experience with a smoker and to learn what's good and what's bad about smoking. It was a positive experience and after using this model, I opted to move up to one with all the bells and whistles. Though this will go to my next garage sale, I'm glad I started with a basic model to learn what the experience is. It was not intimidating and for what I will lose on the price at the garage sale, it was a good way for me to learn investing in a more expensive smoker would be worth it for me. Overall the bells and whistles are fun to play with, but the ribs and meatloaf were just as good from this less costly model as from the fancier one. I would recommend this as an entry level model that can also be a long term answer for anyone wishing to do the smoker thing. The main difference is the digital models allow for a more exact setting of the temp, but that is inexact at best anyway and the model with a remote that I ended up with ? The remote is a hassle to use due to poor feature design. For an entry level experience to the world of smokers ? IMHO 5 stars -

Pretty flimsy and cheaply made but works very well. Made some great tasting meats with it already. Smoked a roast in it in below 0 temperatures and it was still able to hold 220-230 degrees. In 50 degree weather it will hold same temp set to low-mid. Good way to get into the smoking world for $100.

its a great little smoker and fits in the basement compartment of my motorhomeeasy to load and unload for use.

love my smoker its very efficient and the food is excellent that I have cooked.

OK I'M NOT A PIT MASTER BUT FOR A FUN EASY TO WORK WITH EASY TO CLEAN THIS DUDE IS GREAT. MOST TIMES I'M ONLY COOKING FOR 3 PEOPLE THE SMOKER HAS BEEN JUST WHAT I NEED. RIGHT NOW ABOUT 3 WEEKS IN AND 3 RACKS OF RIBS, 2 WHOLE CHICKENS, AND GOING TO TRY A SMALL BEEF ROAST TODAY. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS UNIT. FOR ME ANY BIGGER AND MORE MONEY WOULD BE A WASTE. THE ONLY THING I WOULD LIKE IS A GLASS DOOR BUT THAT EXTRA AND NOW I GOT A HEAT PROBE SO I'M GOOD WITH THAT.

Love this little smoker, works as advertised smokes a Boston butt and baby back ribs to perfection.Had one little problem, one of the racks had a defect, took picture of it sent it to them and got a replacement. Love you guys. Recommend this smoker a buy buy buy

Works very well will probably get another one just wish it was one shelf bigger
