Little Donkey AndyMen’s Softshell Jacket with Removable Hood, Fleece Lined

About this Jacket..
I was looking around town for a thin, water-resistant exterior (softshell) hooded jacket with soft interior and zipper pockets (including breast pocket)..I could not find it anywhere. I either found hood-less versions with the breast pocket, or hooded versions without the pocket, and they were all in the $80 price range on a %20 or more sale.So... To Amazon I went!.. And am I glad I took a chance on Little Donky Andy, because this jacket is amazing quality and an even better price. It has all the features I was looking for, albeit the breast pocket is on the opposite side, but it's an Australian brand so I figure they just do things a little backwards- it's not really a problem. The materials feel BETTER than the more expensive jackets I felt in the stores, and I felt a lot of jackets. The only critique I have on this jacket is that I would prefer the hood to have the bill in front that some raincoats have, but it covers my head nicely and has the cord for tightening which is a MUST HAVE in my opinion, as well as velcro cuff adjusters and waist line cord adjuster. The hood is removable via a zipper and is well covered by a flap that runs along it so that it is not visible either while wearing the hood or not.On the inside of the right pocket sewn into the corner is a nice touch- A spot to put your chapstick where they just sewed an inch or so up to make a little pocket inside the pocket.. Pocket-Ception!I'm 5'8" 170lb, & I ordered a large which is what I wear, and it fits really good. I think the arm pits or shoulders could have had a little more room because when I put my arms straight up, you can see about 2" of my belly, and it's just slightly tight when I squat and reach down, with the sleeves coming back a few inches, but when just standing normally, everything is right where it should be, with the waist a few inches down over my belt- unlike some others I tried on that stopped right at the top of my belt. The sleeves are just right. In fact, for as much as I can expect from ordering a jacket without trying it on, the jacket fits really well, and I'm sure it'll stretch out a little as I break it in and get more comfortable.I wasn't sure about the rubber logos ar first, but I dont mind them; And they're right to want people to know who made such a badass jacket for such a great price! Also, the waist line of the jacket dips down in back to better cover your arse- another nice feature. There is just enough room to wear a sweater underneath. It doesn't have inside pockets, which is fine. The hand pockets are just slightly higher than I'd like, but are nice and deep, going past my wrist and half way up my forearm.I do wish they had included a loop for hanging the jacket; The size looped tag is there and it works for hanging, but takes two hands.

A great softshell jacket
I was going to buy the (far more expensive) North Face Apex Bionic 2 softshell. I tried it on and the fit was too boxy. This Little Donkey Andy jacket looked great in the pictures, but it was so cheap I figured it couldn't be very good, so I didn't buy it. I kept seeing it and eventually I gave in and figured it was cheap enough that I could afford to take a chance on it. I love this jacket! The fit is slimmer than North Face. It looks great. It has excellent water and wind resistance. It's warm enough on its own for pretty cool temperatures, despite being light and thin. When it gets below 35 degrees, I wear a fleece under it and I'm good down to 0. This jacket was a tremendous bargain.

Great jacket!
Fits great and as expected. Nice and warm and cuts the wind. Not too heavy. Just what I was looking for. So far, the quality appears to be excellent. Would definitely buy it again.

Very 4-star Jacket
Pros:- Nice material. Can probably keep warm down to 40F or so with just a T-shirt underneath.- Definitely blocks wind and is water resistant. Light rain beads (but when pressed, it starts to seep into fabric).- Fit is true. I normally wear medium (5'10", 150lbs) and medium fit perfectly (In picture, I am actually wearing thin sweater underneath).- Cuff straps look cheap but get the job done. Without them, the cuffs are very wide and look bad.- Elastic drawstrings for waist and hood.- Hood is perfect sizeCons:- Came with a very chemical smell. I washed it before wearing it out and the smell faded in a few days.- Hood drawstring is not the best design. It is anchored on both ends segments sticking out into an adjustable spring clamp on either side. One of the anchors broke literally the first time I pulled on it (this was right out of the box). I cut out the anchor on the other side and removed the entire drawstring, then "redesigned" it so both ends are loose with knotted ends as shown in the picture. That left an unused hole on each side which isn't a problem.- I didn't like the rather ostentatious logos on the sleeve and bottom of the placket. After some careful examination, I was able to remove both with thin scissors and a pair of tweezers. One of the pictures shows the mark left by the round sleeve logo after removal. It's only noticeable when examined closely.General Comments:- I paid $40 for this jacket.- I have had this jacket for about 3 weeks and wore it roughly every other day for non-strenuous outdoor activities.- It would have been a 5-star jacket if it weren't for some minor design and quality control issues.**UPDATE: February 2022**It's been 3 years. I only wore this in the cold months, so roughly 4 months a year, about 4 times a week on average. Non-strenuous activities.I've since washed it a total of three times (machine wash cold, no detergent, gental cycle, hang dry).- The cheap cuff straps are done. The velcros no longer work, and require a lot of fiddling to get them semi-clasped. I'm thinking about gluing them shut (or try my luck with sewing?).- Water resistance has taken a toll. Water no longer beads, but the fabric is still thick enough that a quick walk in light rain shouldn't be a problem.- Other than that, the jacket still looks and feels like new.Didn't expect this review to blow up.

Tres mauvaise taille
