Great Civil War Projects: You Can Build Yourself (Build It Yourself)

This is a very informative book not only for kids, but also adults. Being a Civil War reenactor, I am always being asked questions, but sometimes not know the answers. Every chapter has a bit of trivia and facts, that most people dont know. So now I come back with some of this trivia when asked something I dont know. I believe this would be a great aid for teachers. Not only are there fun and neat projects, but alot of slang words that were common during the civil war. Each project has a story and history behind it. I mainly bought the book for my kids, but now they cannot get it away from me.

Very cool ideas for kids & teachers with being age appropriate. I used for 5th graders.

I used this book to teach my 12 year-old son about the Civil War. We both learned a lot about many aspects of that time period. The activities were fun to work on together and the supplies used were common things that are used in the home.

This book is overall quite good. My only negative is that a cannon is shown on the book's cover, yet it does not contain instructions for making one. Other than that, good projects & historical notes.

This book has great information and cool projects for hands-on learning fun. My kids have enjoyed it. Great ideas to keep the kids engaged and interested. Highly recommended resource for studying the Civil War!

One always wonders if a Christmas gift for a 12 year old will "fill the bill." This book definitely did. He really liked the book both for the information and the projects.

I am a fifth grade teacher and have found several great projects in this book to use in the classroom. The kids love the projects and learn at the same time.

Nice book!! Lots of info to use even without the projects, which makes it twice as useful!
