Great Copy/Paste Skills
The information in the books is somewhat useful, but very disorganized. You'll find yourself saying "Didn't I already read this passage?" a few times, because the author/editor literally copy/paste passages. The back of the book, which is written specifically for golden retrievers, talks about german shepards. So! Needless to say, the editing is pretty terrible. All that being said, the author definitely does have Golden knowledge and it is worth a read. I would consider it a supplemental read, not something to base your training off of.

Waste of Money
Could have been about any breed. Barely mentions golden retrievers. Very poor training book. Not a single photo or illustration. Highly repetitive -- appears to be trying to come up with enough pages to qualify as a "book."

Golden Retriever Training
A great book with multiple good tips for any Golden owner. I recommend.

More of a pamphlet than a book.
Very generic, I have other books with more meat. It was double spaced and the content could of fit on half the number of pages.

The Cover of My Golden Book refers to German Shepherds
The book is fine, but it became quickly obvious that the editing was poor. Entire paragraphs are repeated verbatim. Information is repeated many more times than necessary. On the copy I received, the book was about Golden Retrievers, but the cover referred to German Shepherds. It became quickly obvious that the author was “rebranding” her books for multiple breeds in order to market them to specific owners. This is fine, but it leads the reader to assume that the training tips are unique to Goldens, which I now suspect is not the case. If the author cannot take the time to remove references to German Shepherds from her Golden book, how can I trust that she has specific experience with the breed? That said, I am already a dog owner who has taken training classes with my Golden in the past, and this book was a Christmas gift. The author’s tips are in keeping with what I have learned. But this book is probably the same book as for other breeds, with a little “cut and paste” for my specific breed, a sort of marketing “bait and switch.” The ruse may have been successful if not for the ham-handed editing.
