It smells of leather. Surprise! :-D Also, it is a little heavy because it is leather, but I was expecting that, and it is robust and will definitely outlive me. I love carrying mine.

I really like that the bag is 100% real leather. The bag is very well put together. The storage space is nicely thought out. The leather is really nicely tanned in a traditional way that looks great.

I purchased the produce because I liked the look of it. It is well made and fits my needs. I just needed something to carry my laptop around and anything else for work. I work from home, so I don't use it all the time, but when I do it looks good.Obviously I rated it high because it is made well, it matches the descriptions on line pretty well. I will tell you about a couple of noteworthy things...It smells. I'm sure you've read other reviews saying the same thing, so did I. I was wondering how bad could it be? Frankly, it is unusable when you first get it. I opened mine and left it in a well ventilated space for a couple of weeks before I started to put stuff in it. It does go away eventually, but you may want to use air fresheners or fabric softeners or something for a while.It doesn't have pen holders. I know that sounds silly, but I like a place to put my pens for easy access. You sort of have to throw them to the bottom of the bag.Finally, the straps are real buckles not the faux ones that snap behind the leather straps. These straps work like a belt where you have to thread the buckle. Not a huge deal, but if you thought you could simply click and un-click to open and close, you can't.

This was less than worthless because now I have to return it!It would be worthless to me if I was looking at it in a store - I would never buy it. Now, it's costing me my time to return it - less than worthless.First of all, I would not consider this "leather". It is paper thin, not "full grain" like the description says. It looks about as thick and strong as cardstock paper. If I actually used it, I'm quite sure that it would tear very quickly. I can't even say for sure that it's "REAL" leather.Secondly, IT STINKS! No really, it smells bad! If you've purchased anything made out of leather, you know that "leather smell". This doesn't smell anything like that. It truly smells like manure.In 1987, I bought a leather briefcase from "Wilson's Leather" at my mall for $79.99. That whole store had that great "leather smell". The briefcase is full grain leather and I've used and abused it for decades. However, it's a little small for my laptop, 3 ring binder (for work) and a slim Nalgene water bottle... plus a few miscellaneous things.I also have a laptop/messenger bag that I bought from Walmart sometime in the late '90's. That one cost me $17.99. It fits everything but lacks the "panache" of a nice leather attaché.I looked at many of these style of leather briefcases and geeked out on the reviews. Many of these style of briefcases had MANY reviews that now, sadly, look like mine. The price was very inviting - just a few dollars more than the REAL leather briefcase I bought in the 80's. I took a chance and now regret it.I'll keep looking - which is my advice to you.

Without going into to much details, this bag smells like literal horse manure. Extremely nice bag, but I've been working days now to remove the scent. Its not mild either, its very pungent.Quality of workmanship is great, and leather is thick and sturdy. So great value overall.
