Duraflame 9HM7253-C299 Portable Electric Infrared Quartz Heater, Dark Cherry

Our our other duraflame heater went out after about 10 years of use. We bought this 1 & are pleased with it. It's a little smaller than the other one but so far works good. We have a wood stove in the basement & this is only used to take the chill out of the living room.

This heater is AWESOME. I live in a converted basement apartment in a family member's home, and this is LITERALLY my only source of heat. Considering I live in a fairly mild climate (Pacific Northwest), and the basement (by it's nature of being half-buried in the earth) is well insulated, it heats quite well. My guess is, for use in a regular home, it would heat a single room (even fairly large) quite well. It DOES make a little bit of noise, as it works by way of a fan, but it's not so loud that it interferes with TV watching or sleep. I would RECOMMEND this, certainly as a secondary heat source, and maybe give it a try as a primary heater, but have a back-up plan in mind, just in case. For MY needs, it is PERFECT.

I can't say what it can't do. I can only say what it can do. I have a large living room and I wanted to warm it up. The heater was able to warm the living room from 60 degrees to about 75 degrees. Some fan noise, but really not loud. The cabinet does not get hot. Only one "speed", so it's either on or off, although there is a temperature setting and a timer (haven't used it yet). If you live in the midwest and need to heat a large room by over 20 degrees, I don't know if this heater can do it. But place it in a bedroom or den, and the heater seems to work like a champ.

These heaters are great! I have two of them and use to heat the kitchen and family room. This is advertised as supplemental heat, but we use as our only heat source. We had other heaters that just didn't do the job. These are great. Attractive and put out a nice heat that doesn't dry the air. Doesn't get hot to touch so if you have small children and/or pets these are great! Rolls easily and the remote is a nice feature. Totally recommend. My only "complaint" is the cord length. It would be nice to have a bit more, but part of the problem with an older home is a lack of outlets. :)

We have only had this heater for a month so still somewhat early to give a full review. So far, my wife and I are happy. Our family room is the farthest run from the furnace and this room is always 10 degrees cooler than the rest of our house. The Duraflame easily raises the temp to 70 or higher. Having a remote control makes it ideal for changing temp settings or turning it off and on.

I set the thermostat to 97 and it will not get out of the 70's.

This is an AMAZING heater ! The best of all heaters I've purchased so far. I've been using small space heaters and they just don't warm up a 500 sq. ft. room like they are advertised to. But this Duraflame 9HM7523etc. works very well to heat a 500 sq. ft. room and a much larger room as well. Unlike my space heaters that seem to dry out the air- The Duraflame 9HM7523 etc. doesn't dry out the air. I notice that the air is nice and not dry. I definitely recommend this heater ! I've a drafty home and this still manages to warm my home. I LOVE IT !!!!

runs quietly and warms nicely. I placed in kitchen that stays cold. It is a large room and doesn't heat up extremely fast but for the size of heater I am pleased. it is compact and easy to slide out of the way.
