BONA Mega Glossy 5 L

After watching many YouTube videos on what floor finish to go with, I went with Bona Mega as it was the highest rated from the videos I was watching I could find in the UK. I redid the floors in May, so it’s been 2 full months of use in our house. Application was very easy using a roller with very little smell. We did a coat of Bona Classic Primer onto the freshly sanded floors, then 2 coats of Bona Mega extra matte. Our flat is 850sq ft and we did the front bedroom, 2nd bedroom (office), living room and entry hall. 5L was the perfect amount to get all those rooms done with 1 coat, no leftover. The finish has held up very well even incurring the wrath of our 36kg dog. No visual scratches, even with his nails when he gets the “zoomies” the finish holds up very well, even when the wood underneath is showing denting the finish has not shown damage. I will go with Bona Mega again in the future when I need to do a touch up coat in however many years.

This product is so straightforward and easy to use. Re-coatable very quickly compared to others (4 hours), but if you leave more than 24 hours between coats you have to lightly sand the floor before the next coat. I really like the natural finish, you can definitely tell its there but I love that its not shiny. Photo of room empty is before, photo with furniture in is after about a month. Only issue I had was it says "medium traffic" but with 4 coats it has still scratched quite a lot after 2 months, from our 2 dogs claw's. I will probably invest in the heavy traffic version but that is an additional £100.

Great product for any internal hardwood or softwood woodwork. High build, easy to apply, heat proof and goes a long way.
