The Simple Sabbat ~ A Family Friendly Approach to the Eight Pagan Holidays

This book sets out to with a goal of being a simple, usable book with "no fluff." Just straight up ritual, recipe and craft ideas for marking points on the Wheel of the Year. I think it achieves that, and I like it for a beginner or someone seeking simplicity. There's space for personal notes. It's nice to have YouTube companion videos. That makes it different.To make it a four or five star for me? This seems to be self published. Another editor could help to catch some of the grammar things that slightly bother me. (Ex: a few run on sentences, use of some commas.) The tone is casual and conversational and there are not so many mistakes that make it unreadable -- it is not bad. Pictures or illustrations for the recipes and crafts would help. I had a harder time with the elemental order her family uses because I use North as Earth and East as Air. Reading it as North as Air and East as Earth messes with my head.In short, a good basic introductory book, and a few things a second edition could improve upon that would bump it up for me.

It is a nice book, and well laid out. I do wish there were more "family" activities listed. I use other sources to fill in the gaps. The notes section after each Sabbat is nice, I can add more personalized activities for each celebration.

Some good info, but none of the links work, which was frustrating. This made the book less helpful than I had hoped.

This is a very good book. It contains fairly simple rituals that are basic and highly customizable, full of good tasty treats and crafts for kids and adults alike. It has a bit of info behind the Sabbats as well, such as yule being the rebirth of the God from the Goddess. It follows the wheel of the year, and goes through all eight Sabbats in order. All in all it's a very good book for easy quick ideas for all the Sabbats, and could help get kids more involved.

I fell in love with this book! I was looking for a book of rituals for the Sabbats and I am so glad that I purchased this book. Flora lays everything out in the easiest to understand structure which is just want I was looking for. I didn't want anything with long drawn out setups or lists. Flora puts all you need within one or two pages in most of these and with a busy life, I love that she saves me time and money with her expertise. Thanks Flora!

Wonderful addition to your library, full of info on the sabbats in an easy to digest presentation - with activities, recipes, and rituals, makes incorporating Sabbat celebration into your life easy and fun.

I've always been a Flora fan, her positive attitude is totally contagious and lovable and when I heard this book came out I freaked. It's wonderful, easily adjusted and gets right down to business so you aren't stuck there reading 40 pages of sabbat lore and history then ending up with nothing tangible to celebrate the occasion. This isn't school people, it's real life! And Flora's down to earth and inspiring guide sure gets that across. =)

What I love about Marie's books is she always keeps them simple without sacrificing the most important information. Whenever I need a quick answer I look to Flora. The Simple Sabbat is perfect for the neopagan who just wants to know where to begin. Marie teaches you simple ways to celebrate pagan holidays for you and your family. Flora is a kind heart and a brilliant spiritual teacher.

This book is wonderful, and a must have! Easy to read and to follow. You can pick it up any time of the year, or read it all the way through in one go! Packed full of great ideas and its fun! One of my favs :)

I bought this to get some ideas on how to celebrate the different festivals and what I like is that there are two levels of celebration outlined: one more child-friendly or for those, like myself, who aren't following a pagan Spiritual path but who want to mark the turning of the year, and the other level for an adult, pagan celebration. Included in the ebook are links to the author's YT videos with more explanations on the various festivals as well as many and varied suggestions for crafts. All in all I'm delighted to have this little treasure in my library.

An absolutely wonderful guide. Simple, but not bare bones, with some suggestions even for those of us who have been long on the path. Great for kids
