Blocks every bit of light - Comfortably!!
I had never used a sleep mask before, so I bought two different brands/types to try out, in similar price points. This one I love and the other one I hate. I didn't anticipate there being so many considerations, so let me help you avoid wasting your money. Get this one.The absolute winning feature of this mask is the soft little under-the-eyes panel that fills the gap caused by my nose and blocks out every bit of light. I love this mask. (The other brand I bought is too thin, flips up and doesn't block out the gap around my nose.)This gem is a little padded, like the thickness of a thin hot mitt, so it doesn't flip up, but rather stays put like someone gently cupping a hand over my eye. I was worried about the thickness, but it is cool and breathable, so it's actually a benefit! The price was a tad higher than some others, but Made in the USA was the kicker for me, so I took the plunge.Worth. Every. Penny. It is soft against my skin. The strap is stretchy and adjustable with little velcro strips that are covered by the silky fabric of the strap. I read a review that said the velcro scratched their face, which I am not even sure how that would happen with this design. The soft strap covers the velcro totally, and it it off behind my ears. So I have not had that problem. (The other brand did not have any way to adjust the fit...it was just stretchy fabric. I would think with all the varied head sizes in the world, adjustable fit would be important.)[EDIT: full disclosure, after a few months of wear the strap is a stretched out tangled mess that I had to work around. But the face part is still excellent.]Finally, it is well stitched and seems like it's going to hold up well.Best of all, I have been able to sleep!!! I love it!

Very comfortable.
This mask is extremely comfortable. It lays mostly flat on my eyes, which I like. But, I can still open my eyes under them if I loosen the adjustable head strap. It does have velcro on the strap. But, it doesn't catch on my long hair. My biggest complaint is that it was difficult to hand wash. I tried to run it through the washing machine and that was also a bad idea. It is filled with a poly-cotton blend of some kind. If you've ever washed a pillow, it's the same bunched cotton result.

Pressure on eyes
These seem to block light well, but they do cause some pressure on my eyes which isn’t very comfortable. It is so hard to find cotton sleep masks which is why I gave it a try, but I haven’t been able to use it at night

Nice idea, bad design. Pressure on eyes from strap pulling.

These are high quality - feels wonderful - worth the price
Near perfection. I have bought sleep masks here before, those black cheap made in "who knows where" ones.... and those were always terrible - all of them leaked black coloring onto the pillow and had funny chemical smells. Even the ones that said they didn't. So I went out on a limb and decided to actually spend some money on some American made ones -- and I'm sure glad I did. These are QUALITY.They are thicker, but there is room for your eyes, and its nice soft fabric that feels right - not chemical. It has no odor at all. No color was left on my sheets or pillow. And it completely blocked out the light and stayed in place. I never even feel like I have these on when I'm sleeping, even when I roll over onto my side. I am so, so happy I went with these, since often I end up sleeping while it's daylight. The one small drawback is the adjustable velcro back -- I have a big head -- if you have a much bigger head than me, you might have to futz with things to get it big enough. I haven't really looked closely at it though, but I had to put it to the end of the velcro to get it to fit comfortably. It's elastic too, so it's really not a big deal I think. So grateful for this company creating some quality product :) Worth the money.

Too thick, poor fit on face, small strap
I was so excited to finally purchase an organic sleep mask but was very disappointed by this product. Firstly, it is about twice as thick as the thickest mask I’ve ever owned. It’s like having a thick pillow plastered over your face. The strap was too small even at maximum size (and I don’t have a large head). The design is too tall, as well, so the mask either goes to my hairline if I position the nose piece correctly, or it goes down to my mouth if I place it where I’d optimally have it over my eyes. I was not able to sleep with this at all. I hope they improve their design. I’d try again just to have organic.

Only USA sleep mask I could find
Appears to have good quality materials, good sewing workmanship, and good design. It’s comfortable for long periods of time, easy to adjust, and blocks out light 100%. Used it at home and on flights without issue, and I’m a side sleeper! Yes it’s more expensive than cheaper foreign-made brands, but I feel good supporting a US company that makes their product here in the US!

Although it is thick, you do not notice it ...
Although it is thick, you do not notice it because it is soft on the inside and light over your eyes. It blocks out all light too. I agree that the velcro snags on your hair, but all I had to do was twist the strap before putting it on to get the velcro away from my hair.
