Works fine
Item works as described. My only issue is that in certain areas it tends to lose its signal and it is not always around tall buildings but out in the open road area. It does find eventually correct itself, not a big issue just an annoyance.

pretty lousy unit - especially the software - MANY 5 STAR REVIEWS LOOK FAKE
This is a nice concept, but it isn't executed very well. I ordered two of these - one I updated with the company's software before use, the other I just kind of let it fly with, since the claim is that it will work 'right out of the box.'First off, the software is really awful. It's not the easiest thing in the world to go through a USB port search, identify a device Windows doesn't really recognize as native, and write information to it - but at the same time, it's not a really tough operation either. Flash drives do it flawlessly every day. On the one hand this is an analog device, but on the other - how tough would it be to utilize a digital intermediary with some firmware built directly into the unit to make the port search unnecessary in the first place? Everyone else does it.In fact, the software was so bad at finding the device, that it only found one of my two units (ordered one for me, one for a family member), and that's the only reason I even attempted to use the second one without an initial update. The software worked for the first device, and then when I tried to get it to recognize the second it just locked up the computer (running Windows Vista, quad core processor, 8 gigs of ram - believe me, it wasn't a lack of system resources). I restarted, and the computer wouldn't make it past the system checks on boot up. I cold booted to no effect. I had to unplug and dissipate static and other lingering data from the unit before I could even boot again. I then tried the software again. Same result. I then uninstalled the software, cold-booted, then reinstalled. Same effect. At this point it wouldn't recognize the first device again either (tried everything).I didn't feel like searching my registry to find exactly what the entry was, nor did I think I would be able to. All the online help consisted of was a blowup of the instruction manual (3 mini pages), and some rigamarole about using primary USB ports instead of split units. Well, again, none of that worked. So I decided to try both units anyway. The unit I had been able to update actually worked fine. The unit I hadn't been able to update didn't recognize a single speed or red light camera. Contrary to advertisement, they do not come ready to use out of the box. Throw that one out - let me tell you about the first unit.It worked fine, like I said - but it didn't come with any kind of sticky pad to keep it affixed to the dash. What it did come with was an anti-slip gel pad, which was insufficient. It still moved a good bit and rotated whenever I turned the car.The build quality was low - a coupla buttons (if you dared to press one of them the device flew off the non-slip pad), and cheap looking plastic. The cord was the best made part of the unit. It combined a USB head with a car 12v jack that the head could plug into.In all, the reason I gave the item 2 stars was this: That software was awful to the point that I doubted I'd ever be able to update the unit properly again without a whole lot of hassle. Secondarily, the price versus performance is appalling. For $90, you can get other units that look better, perform just as well, and presumably have better software since they're made by more reputable companies. Forget that - add another 50-80 bucks and you can get a unit that detects radar and laser too. Add another 50-80 to that and you can get a premium combo unit, which is the route I decided to go.I wouldn't buy this again. I was hoping it would work for me and my family members since New Orleans has exploded with fixed location cameras, but it was not the case. End of story analysis is that you need to spend just a little bit more to get the effect you're looking for. Another possibility would be to get a dedicated GPS device that could give you directions and maps and such and you could mark points of interest on that and get the same effect once you determined the locations of different cameras. In any event, this item for nearly a hundred bucks is at best a 2 star item.

got it week ago still testing 4-21-2013
well it works pretty well, today was cloudy and it does not lock in to the GPS signal very well it still finds most of the cameras still testing will update later but one thing I can say it's better than nothing and for a cheap price I am glad I got it I sent some locations where it did not alert and they did add them .if the company will continue to update the red light locations it will be a good product.i do like the speed settng nice extra. like most say if it saves me one ticket it's paid for it's self.please leave feed back if you get one let us know how it works for you .Thanks from Arlington, TEXAS

Cheap, but still a waste of money!
- No customer service that answers your questions, unless you just want to return it.- The unit has error code or message to know why it is not working- The manager software has no error description for why it can't connect to device, except "trying to connect..."- No sense of direction whether it is approaching a camera or leaving it, it just alerts in both cases- No way to delete a custom point if you mistakenly add it- Long struggle to lock to GPS signal and then can lose it often, not comparable to my Garmin- Problem getting signal in rain or even heavily cloudy days- No way to set speed for a custom speed camera- No way to read the data (coordination, speed) of an alert point- There is a self diagnostics function that documentation says not to use it and does nothing, produces no feedback- No way to send a custom location to the website DB from device, unless you come home and your manager software works- It is supposed to be shipped pre-loaded and work out of the box, but mine wasn't and didn't work- The manager software on their website is supposed to connect to the device and load it, but mine could not even find the device- After a few days of frustrating attempts to load it or diagnose it and with no customer support, I returned it and returning was the only thing that actually works!- Of course more expensive devices are not the solution. They are a total rip-off. So I just spent some time adding camera waypoints to my Garmin for free and get the same function as GPS Angel claims to have (mine didn't even function).

GPS Angel
This product woorks as it was designed to do. It warns when you approach a traffic signal (Red Light Camera)at too high a rate of speed,in plenty of time to safely stop. Probably even better it detects the hidden cameras, the light traps (short amber lights). Really, really satisfied so far.

Ignoring
GPS Angel V4E Red Light and Speed Camera Detector just beeps and flashs lights when it wants to. It seems to detect some traffic lights but not all traffic lights. I would not recommend the GPS Angel V4E to detect speed cameras or red lights. I thought it was the ideal product as advertise.

Good Product
Takes about 10 minutes to find signal. Tested and found camera. Overall a great investment if you are thinking about purchasing just buy it. In California their are tons of red light cameras. Think of it this way it for eight bucks you could save thousands of dollars ,because you must take into account. These tickets are not cheap. This device saved me twice.A+ product
