cheap, low security padlock
cheap, low security padlock. Die cast metal, made in two parts, and looks like you could prize it apart. The mechanism is really smooth and free, which is nice to use, but also makes it easy to identify the correct combination. These things buy you time - it takes time or tools to open or remove (less than a minute in my case). This is fine for a public place where someone tampering with it will be spotted immediately, but don't lock anything valuable with it where no one will be spotted tampering with it. I will be using mine as a locker padlock, so it should be fine for that. It is only a trivial deterrent.

Sturdy but fiddly
On the positive side, this is strong and it's easy to set your own personal code (you need a flat head screwdriver to turn the screw on the base through 90 degrees). One problem I found on mine was that the rollers had a tendency to jam temporarily or only turn in one direction. This makes it a bit fiddly to use and you have to be patient with it.

Clunky, numbers go in one direction, oh.. It breaks if dropped once
This is not at all a sturdy lock. It's annoying to use, doesn't strike me with confidence at all. I was only using it for my gym locker but it was dropped once and the casing came apart. In a word, it's naff.

Decent Lock
Pretty happy with this. Only very minor issue is that it unlocks with a digit out, eg if you set the code to 2345 it will open with that and 2346.

No accidental code-change - strong lock.
Most code padlocks let you change code when the lock is open - the trouble is this sometimes happens accidentally and then you are really stuck. The great feature of this padlock is that to change code you have to activate a screw-turn slot on the base. The padlock seems to be strong and secure, it actually locks the hoop shackle at both ends - most cheaper padlocks only lock the hoop shackle at the free end.
