Best dress shoe lace
I happened upon a pair of this brand from a cobbler when I last needed heels replaced. I had gotten tired of the cheapo Kiwi brand laces you get at most common department stores. They always fray around the eyelets and come untied, not to mention that their plushness doesn't look nice on leather dress shoes.I was introduced to these Cord-Hyde laces, and will never go back to the cheapo Kiwi laces for cress shoes ever again. I used my first pair for a year and a half with no fraying, always looked classy with their fine braiding, and they always stayed tied. The only reason I had to buy a new pair is that my dog chewed on them.Previous commenters are correct that they do grey a little bit because the wax gets a little roughed up. This goes away after some use. I've found you can use some beeswax to help condition these down the road, or even the same type of black polish you use on shoes (just don't over do it--you'll get black on your hands and everywhere).

Thin Laces - Well Made.
These really are thin but should be great if your shoes have fine holes for laces. I have a friend who needs thin laces so I'll give him a pair since I bought a few.My first time with waxy laces. For the first several weeks they stick and make it a challenge to take your shoes off. I imagine this would be a great feature if used for fine formal shoes that require thin laces to hold without pulling the laces tight to break. For my purposes, because that is not my situation - they've already broken in nicely and I hope the wax will make them more durable.I was also excited to see that these were made here in Virginia!

They are on the thin side (which is perfect for many dress shoes)
These are laces meant for dress shoes. They are on the thin side (which is perfect for many dress shoes), made of cotton, and waxed. Fortunately, the specs shown on the webpage is a good description so there should be no surprises to those who pay attention to what they buy.I think it's important to single out sellers who do a very good some from those who don't. You're not just buying a product, you're also paying for a seller's service. Towards that end, I want to complement a seller "Forthefeet."My original order hadn't arrived within the specified time. After waiting 12 days, I contacted the seller (Forthefeet) who trusted that I was telling the truth and sent replacement laces to me and., this time, they added on tracking.Think about that. From now on, I will buy products from "Forthefeet" whenever they sell something I need.

The best I've ever tried.
I had looked for years to find decent replacement laces for nice dress shoes. Thin, waxed laces in the right length are hard to find in stores or online, so I had resorted to nylon non-waxed laces when necessary. But those didn't look as good or, more importantly, stay tied. As a result I was re-tying my shoes a dozen times a day. I had even resorted to waxing my own laces, but it just didn't work well. Finally, I found these laces and they are perfect, perfect, perfect. Strong, thin, and they stay tied all day long. The appearance is consistent with other high end OEM laces that come on the best shoes on the market. I highly recommend these to anyone needing replacement laces for expensive, or even budget-priced, dress shoes. They will be at least as good, but probably better, than what came with the shoes originally.

They stay tied, and are nice and thin
These look very nice with my black shoes: I like the look of thin laces. The wax really helps them to hold: I now only single-tie my shoes! They seem to be standing up to normal use well, and the price was good (considering two pairs of laces). As the laces are rubbed from tying them, the wax does make them appear a bit dusty/lighter colors where the abrasion was... but not enough to be noticed aside from tying them.I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a nice, clean-looking, thin set of laces, and is looking for waxed laces so they stay tied.

Nice laces for dress shoes.
That is about it. I'm a vintage dress shoe collector and these laces are the right stuff for that type of shoe.

Good quality, American-made waxed shoe laces that stay tied!
Good value and service. I like that these laces are American-made. Haven't worn them very long, so cannot attest to durability. They fit exactly as expected. I prefer waxed laces to the cotton ones that now typically come with men's dress shoes, and routinely become untied, unless you double-knot them. What adult wants to double-knot shoelaces, especially one that travels through airports a lot and has to remove shoes -- which sometimes requires awkward fumbling to untie double-knotted shoelaces!
