How a Mouse Saved the Royal Cat

Every now and then I see a book whose cover calls out to me to read it. This book did! Oh I know it is a delightful children's story but this person has an inner child that cries for a good story.This book has a good story. Here a tiny kitten is charged with killing all the mice in the castle or else. The castle's adult cats, although good mousers have been unable to keep the mouse/rat population under control. The mice decide a stragety is required. They meet. The result is a deal with the new kitten. Clever mice, charming kitten, clean castle. A delight to read and to read to children.

I thought the story was charming and the few illustrations adorable. However, I would have preferred many, many more images of the mice, cats, and castle.

I am 7 years old . I really like this book and the story idea. The cat and mice get to live together in peace.Peyton

My son picked this book based on the cover and said, "see, I told you it would be good" when I was done reading it. He didn't mind that it only has a few pictures at all.

My grandkids loved the story!

I mentor two first graders in reading. The girl likes cats so this was a huge success. I liked the message it gave of helping each other.

I enjoyed reading this tale of a clever little black cat. You can easily relate to the characters traits and challenges. Wish it had a few more illustrations. This is a lovely rainy day or night time routine read.

What do you when your castle is overrun by mice? This is a delightful tale to read to children. Will keep your child entertained with the artwork and the plot.
