Vision For God

It has been a privilege reading this book. I am very interested to read modern day missionary biographies and this one did not disappoint. The structure of the text gave variation to style and where needed brevity to unnecessary detail. The emotions that emerged in the life of this family with six children growing up in India are beautifully portrayed. The challenges facing Margaret Brand in the role of a medical practitioner in ophthalmology were at times heart stopping for me as the reader. Then her journey in motherhood of six lively children and wife of a world famous surgeon are like an adventure story. And I loved the records of her spiritual life as she sought to keep step with a myriad of experiences that were every day events... this is to my mind is a must read.

Dr. Margaret Brand should be famous beyond the medical field for her amazing life, and her approach to serving others. Even beyond the realm of Christianity, for she was a woman who literally touched thousands of lives all over the world while raising a large beautiful family, and being a partner to her also remarkable husband in discovering new medical breakthroughs that have changed the face of leprosy in the world. Every young woman can be inspired by her story, her wit, her charm, and her life are an inspiration to anyone who will read this book, especially women who want to go into practicing medicine.

Wonderful family history and showing how God provides all that it is needed at the right timing. To raise a family who turned out so well and still such a ministry that often separated them. How they kept together as a closely knit family...

I have read her husband's books with Phillip Yancey and was so impressed with His knowledge and compassion in his work with leprosy patients, and his work in India, I wanted to read it from her view. I am impressed with the heart of both of them, very inspiring book.

Excellent. Margaret and husband wonderful gifted people. One borrower at the Southland Christian Library let it fall into the bath that is why I ordered this copy because it is so popular with our borrowers.

What a wonderful book about wonderful people. Such amazing situations and how their love for God shines through everything they did. I highly recommend this book.

Not only is the story and the whole family interesting, but it is a very inspiring trip to take with Margaret Brand.

A good read both mother and I really enjoyed it and found it very informative. However, we are slightly biased as it is about a distant relative.
