Muz z prvniho stoleti (Man of the First Century) box

Man of the First Century is an important and entertaining science-fiction film. The set designs are mind boggling. Even the props are clever and futuristic. The attitude of this movie is gentle and non violent, not like so much of movies from the 60’s. The transfer is obviously from original sources, which helps show the intricate details in set design, costumes, etc. My wish here is for subtitles in English. Having included also the English dubbed version would be welcome as well. Thanks for making this film available.

It is a strange black/white scifi movie from the sixtieths in Czech language from the famous Oldrich Lipsky.It provides czech subtitles.By accident a worker pushs the start bottom in a new spaceship and the rocket starts. The worker coms to a planet far away and the aliens there allow him to go back to earth, together with a companion.He lands about 500 years later on Earth, and is a man from the first century, because they restarted counting with sputnik.The movie mainly shows his adventures on Earth in a far future.It is a kind of socialist comedy and a parody of socialism.I recommend it, but if you cannot speak Czech, you should either use a version with subtitles or download subtitles from a subtitle database.
