Light Up Your Watercolors Layer By Layer: Transparent Glazing Techniques for Luminous Paintings
B**B
Glazing is the next step.
Glazing, as meant in watercolors and other translucent paints, is the layering if different colors to create a painting with more life. Not an easy thing to start doing offhand, but this is a great book to teach you how to do it.

This is a very good book for the patient artist
This is a very good book for the patient artist. I personally like glazing as a technique. This book is not for anyone who wants an instant trick. If you want to learn to do a stronger type of realism, this is a good learning experience. The other caveat is that some decent drawing skills make for a better foundation for thiis approach.

It opens like a book
It's a book. It opens like a book. It reads like a book. It doesn't have annoying screen glare when I'm studying it. If you're interested in the subject material, it's a good book.

Worth it.
This book was very helpful in my quest to learn watercolor. It has a lot of color theory and how that applies to the glazing and layering.

Good exercises. Good introduction of basic watercolor techniques, not only the layering technique.

A bit dull
The artist is very accomplished and has won all kinds of awards, but I just find her style a bit dull. The USP of the book is a very basic 3 step approach to layering watercolour (glazing): step 1 warm shades, step 2 cool hues, on top of the warm layer, & this is the problem... the result is muddy dull colour.I should have looked up her website before placing the order.
