Did not expect to receive cassette tapes....expected CDs.

I started listening to Led Zepplin backwards. As a kid during the 80s and a teen during the 90s, I grew up listening to rap/hip-hop. As I came of age, it was inevitable that I began listening to the sources of hip hop. Of course, I ran into Led Zepplin. When I heard "Dancing Days" and "No Quarter" I nearly had an epiphany: Page and Plant are demigods.Seriously, I would consider Jimmy Page a genius. He studied Black music, i.e., down-home American blues, and amplified it with hard, catchy electric guitar riffs, and added the thunderous--yet incredibly funky--drum breaks of Bonham. Combined with Plant's soulful crooning, Led Zepplin is easily the best hard rock band of all time. The Beatles may be more conceptual, and The Rolling Stones may have more depth. But, for hard, funky rock music, no one compares to Zep.In particular, this boxed set contains "Nobody's Fault But Mine," which epitomizes Page's genius in transforming blues into head-banging rock music. The riffs and drum breaks in this song are exemplary of the band's "heavier" songs. The acoustic and softer stuff will grow on you too. If you wish to find where many of today's hard rock or hip hop bands have learned their "sounds," go to the source and you will find Page. It is obvious that bands such as Stone Temple Pilots were heavily influenced by Led Zepplin.In sum, this is a "must-have" for any person interested in the best band of hard rock-n-roll. And after you buy this set, you will get the second as well. Trust me.
