Don’t forget to update the firmware
Been using this for a couple of months now on a dual-boot Mac and Windows machine. 144 Hz isn’t quite the life-changing experience I’d hoped it would be, but it’s noticeable when dragging a window from this monitor to my old 60 Hz secondary display. This monitor is extremely bright and vivid - way brighter than my four-year-old Dell, so colour matching between the two isn’t really possible.I’m using an Nvidia GPU, which initially caused many glitches with Freesync/G-sync, even though it’s supposed to be compatible. The problem turned out to be outdated firmware. I’ve never had to update a monitor before, but while this one was shipped to me with version 1 firmware, it should actually be on version 6 or above for proper Nvidia compatibility. The monitor software won’t tell you this, you have to search on Gigabyte’s website for drivers. The joystick control can be set to various different quick-access functions, but only a selection from a small list. So to get to useful things like the frame rate counter, you have to click through the main menu, which is a bit fiddly. Perhaps they’ll update it in one of their many firmware revisions.Still, it’s a good monitor, very crisp picture with an extremely solid and heavy stand. I wish I had two of them, really, as it makes my other one - which I used to think was pretty great - look dull by comparison.Edit: Ars Technica recently rated this the best all-round gaming monitor currently on the market, and said it's "a great jack-of-all-trades". So there you go. I'm certainly happy with it.I suspect previous complaints about dropping connections or having to reset the monitor would have been solved by updating the firmware.

Thank you Gigabyte, a perfect panel!
I gave up trying to find a good IPS 144hz 27" panel a few years ago because every one I tried had terrible backlight bleed. After a fly decided to die inside my current TN panel, work bought me a new monitor, I decided to try the Aoras because I heard it uses a new type of panel with better quality control.I have had a close inspection of the new monitor with both black and white screens and I cannot detect any backlight bleed whatsover! It is actual even more consistent than my old TN panel, which was pretty good in this regard. No obvious stuck pixels either that I can see, looks like a perfect panel. Very pleased indeed! The picture quality is absolutely superb as well, and the viewing angles are amazing. Such an improvement over TN for web design, money well spent!

Finally a perfect screen
After trying several brands and never finding a good 1440p 144hz screen, Gigabyte saved the day.Had to return several Asus Pg's and Acer screens in the past due to panels issues, bleeds, clouding, dead pixels etc etc.I decided to try Gigabytes new screen and I can say its perfect, little to no bleed, amazing colors, responsive and a lot nice features extra.I recommend giving this model a try if your having issues with Asus and other brands.

The wait just wasn't worth it
Okay so I really wanted to like this monitor, waited forever for its release. Let me touch on a few points here; This thing is built like a brick, lovely construction, very solid. Beautiful picture quality after calibration, the white point is good not great as compared to Acer and Asus’s offerings, it’s just a bit better than Samsung’s chg70 panel. Overall colour uniformity is quite good much better than Acers predator. The IPS glow unfortunately is pretty bad but not quite as bad as Acers Predator, there is some bleed too. Contrast isn’t great I would say less than average for an IPS panel. The big issue I have with this panel however is its random signal loss. It randomly loses signal and can only be solved by hard reset or if you have second monitor plugged in you can unplug the Aorus and plug it back in, however the quirky part here is, all icc profiles will be reset and the monitor continually defaults to a YPbPr limited colour range. When this happens there is a severe halo effect around the text. When running blur busters, the panel struggles to sync on the ufo test, which leads me to believe that the refresh rate 144hz is unstable as it syncs just fine at 60 and 120hz. The replacement (monitor on the right where both are together) I was sent had the worst bleed I have ever seen. I will now wait and purchase LG’s new 27GL850 .Hope this helps

Terrible Quality Control
Such a shame. Monitor was dead on arrival with a huge dead pixel at the bottom of the screen! Great quality control guys!

Fantastic Monitor
Clear picture with viewing angles that never diminish the clarity. Monitor tilts, lifts and swivels and is packed full of features with different settings for picture quality. Comes well packaged for safe transportation and is the best gaming monitor I have ever owned and worth every penny.

Good is loss in signal doesn’t return
Will see how this pans out, plugged in and to my eyes display looks great, only thing is now the monitor has lost signal to the computer twice, once while stating a game and the second time while doing nothing, just updated the firmware to see if this helps, plus on other forums I seen some say the display cable supplied is a bit cheap so might order a decent DisplayPort cable
