My part lab part golden puppies chewed the corners off this bed. They especially went after the dangling zipper. I tried to mighty mend the corners back together but still has couple holes. Won’t scratch thru when they fluff it up to lay on but they did chew the corners off. Wish the zipper had a removable pull and no visible tag. They also went crazy trying to pull and chew the tag off. They are mostly out of this phase now thank goodness. And I still have the cover. Just wish it was more chew proof on the corners. I may get another one later when they are older. Think it’s just a puppy phase.

My dogs can destroy anything. This covering has been working well over a year with no holes for the zipper. Not breaking. Wash it in the wash machine just fine. I’ve had it for over a year and it still is in perfect condition.

EDIT: The company reached out to me after reading my review and refunded my entire purchase price. Which I really hadn't expected, but I appreciated them doing that to make it right. So, if you don't have a chew-monster in dog form like I do, this bed will probably stand up to the worst your pup can throw at it. And the customer service is really stellar.A quick tip, if you don't want your dog unzipping their bed, a few stitches by hand across the zipper teeth will keep the zipper from unzipping and won't damage the zipper mechanism in any way.This lasted less than 48 hours. In the space of 2 days, my puppy spent the first night finding the structural weaknesses of the bed, and the second night exploiting them. She ripped it along the seams, and also chewed holes in the fabric. This is the furthest thing from chew proof fabric that I have met, and the idea of it being ballistic, whatever that's supposed to mean, is laughable. I didn't expect this dog bed to last for decades, but for the price, I had hoped to get 6 months to a year out of it. 2 days is an annoyingly short time for anything to be useful for, but it's especially galling when it's a chew-proof dog bed.

Unfortunately, my dog was able to chew through the cover where the zipper is within an hour or two of using it.

This fit over our current dog bed that had be scratched and chewed up. This new bed seems durable. Our dog did not like it for the first few nights, as it is much more stiff then her old bed was. But she like it just fine now. Saved us the cost of buying a new bed.

I like the size and color of the dog bed cover. I like that I can use my own filler and/or mattress with it. I like that I can zip it off and toss it in the washing machine. But, for those looking for something that is "chew proof"--get yourself a coolaroo raised dog bad--or similar. Don't bother with "chew proof" covers. Ballistic used to make a truly durable cover. I had one that lasted 6 years with a 75 pound dog who liked to scratch his bed into a nest and occasionally tried to snack on it--it stood the test of time and abuse. Lately, NO ONE seems to be making a bed or bed cover of that quality. For large, young dogs, I now buy some cheap woven rugs at the grocery store--about $5 a piece. It takes them about 6 months to totally destroy them--then toss out. Put 2 rugs in a crate. So! $20 per year versus $150 for a so-called "chew proof" cover--per year per dog--for a bed that will be in shreds at the end of the year--anyway!

This is the second chew proof dog bed cover we have ordered from Dogbed4less. The first one lasted for almost 6 years before it just wore out at the seams. I have ordered multiple sizes and fabrics of dog bed covers from Dogbeds4less and have never been disappointed! My "go to" for when I want to make a new dog bed out of a memory foam mattress cut to size.

Tough! My dog loved it! I stuffed it with an old twin size duvet and it fit perfectly.
