Firstly, I was a bit concerned because I read a review about them being made in China (so many things are these days) and containing lead, but I liked the look and price, so ordered them as well as lead testing QTips to see for myself. I tested when I got the set and the test didn’t react to show lead- so I felt safe to order a second set.When I got the second set, everything matched and was beautiful off white with speckles, except for 4 bowls that had a slightly different, darker color and larger brown speckles instead of smaller more dark ones. I wrote to the seller and was happily surprised when 4 new bowls showed up in the mail not far after.I’m impressed with the customer service and really like my sets!! I have seen a few scratches when you scrape metal on them, but try to avoid that as much as possible, and it doesn’t seem to be too noticeable or a high level of scratches. Also, they do get warm in the microwave, but don’t all ceramic plates? It’s not a problem for me and I just am careful and use a napkin or mitt if I need to when I take them out of the micro until they cool down. I bought these plates back in 2019 and they have lasted a long time and are very durable. Four years later and I have only broken one plate after it slipped off the table onto a tile floor. The color is basic and blends with lots of different types of decor. Dishwasher safe as well!

I have been using these daily for about 6 months now. I have not noticed any scratches or chips. I put them through the dishwasher including drying and I have seen no fading. They get a bit hot in the microwave. I just don't take them out with my bare hand so that does not bother me at all. They are a beautiful blue and have a nice weight to them. I have 2 sets and may buy one more so I can have 12 placesettings.

These plates are truly well made. Very happy we bought two sets. We only put 5 out and are saving the rest for guests / any breaks. I love the satin finish, not glossy, nor matte with the speckle design. The color is not stark white which I was worried about but was pleasantly surprised they’re a slight eggshell or a couple points darker, not blazing white essentially. Our set has been tested with pasta left in the bowl overnight with no staining! Another pleasant surprise. The ONLY minor detail which doesn’t apply to everyone is this: they are a bit heavier than your average plate. For someone like my mom who has RA it will be a little difficult for her to handle. Again not a concern for every person but a detail that’s good to know.

Love the look of these, and they are very heavy/sturdy feeling. We've used regularly for over a month now, and while it's definitely held up in the dishwasher and with regular everyday eating, we're starting to notice that our forks and knives (which are just regular stainless steel silverware) are making little scratch marks. The scratches are hidden to an extent within the pattern, but I do wonder what these will look like in a year or two after regular everyday eating.

I loved these dishes inline but they are even better in person. They have a real high quality weight and are a matte, earthy color.I received them in a timely fashion but two of the plates were cracked in half with chips all inside. I figured this may happen due to other reviews but I will be contacting Sango to replace.

I just got them today. I can’t wait to try these plates - they are very pretty and good quality.But unfortunately I’m not sure if I will be using them since the bowls were broken upon delivery. I hoping to replace them. If not I have to return whole set.

I had my eye on this set when it was sold out and I’m so glad it came back in stock. The irregularities of the dinnerware makes each piece feel hand-thrown and hand-pinched, and I love the cream speckled glaze. The exposed matte clay on the bottom is a nice touch too. It might scratch tile counters, but it’s been fine on granite, stainless steel, and wooden surfaces. Amazing price for something that feels artisan. I will say that the dinner plates feel really large - I use the salad plates as dinner plates and I’ve set the dinner plates aside as serving platters
