Milo is an bull terrier who has been virtually abandoned by his human owners. One night a blinding light from the sky shatters his doghouse and leaves a gaping crater. A falling star urges him to follow it on a one week's journey, after which Milo will find his true friend Ze. What an adventure! Milo meets all sorts of animals and even a monster on a trip that ventures over the seas, up into the skies and across the desert. Milo's faith and resistance to all manners of peril allow him to survive and find his true friend, at last!The illustrations of Pablo Michau and the crisp rhymes draw readers into the adventure. Targeted for preschoolers and primary grade children, this book is a good choice for a bedtime story or as a child's beginning read aloud. Fosters the values of friendship and persistence. I downloaded this free book for my nightly reading with my nephew. I am somewhat amused that nearly all children's books rhyme these days, this one included.Milo is a lonely pup whose wish is granted by a falling star; if he follows the star he will meet someone who will be his best friend.Along the way Milo meets several animals who help him reach his destination. I love that this book teaches children how to work together to help each other out.

I absolutely loved parts of this little book. However, the story was a bit disjointed. Maybe if I had the physical format instead of Kindle it would flow better. I'd read that Milo was in Italy, then India with a tiger, then hanging out with new boy, with not much explanation. And no rationale for why he ends up with Ze a kid in India. Digital artwork was a bit inconsistent. The artist was talented, but I felt that the he was learning how to use "brushes" and "effects" in Photoshop. On one page, it would be lushly illustrated and beautiful (ex. when the star appears on Milo's chest) and then other pages, it was very cartoonish. It was worth the kindle price of $2.99, but defintiely not the book price of $14 plus.

This was a beautiful written children's story by Mark Watson accompanied by the unsurpassed illustrations of Pablo Michau rarely found in any book either children's or adults. This is a story that both young and old will enjoy time and time again. Milo is a forgotten pet forsaken by his owners in the backyard. Milo's dream of finding a friend seems to be a forsaken task until one night when a ball of blinding light smashes into his kennel. Milo is freed from the backyard and meets many interesting and unique characters on his remarkable trek to find his friend. I highly recommend this book as it's destined to take its place among the classics in children literature.

I liked the very much of the journey of a Milo and Ze, a very sweet and joyful ending of a long journey for Milo. Such super pictures too sure to make young young kids very happy who loves to either read it by themselves or have an older person to read it for them at bedtime. Milo and Ze has become a frequent favourite for bedtime stories. It's a simple story of big adventures, as we follow Milo the lonely dog, on a magical journey to find a friend. This is a happy story with a heartwarming ending. The fun rhymes are enhanced by the colourful illustrations that allow non readers to follow along the story.I enjoyed reading this story too. It's a nice length, longer than most stories for this age group, so my children are quite satisfied to settle off to sleep after they've had Milo and Ze as their bedtime story.

This book is a pleasure to read. The illustrations fantastic and my grandchildren loved it. The forgotten little dog with a star on his chest searches for Ze, his companion for life.So impressed with book, you can understand why it's a best seller! Bought the second book in paperback!

As a Bull terrier owner the illustrations are spot on! And capture the heart. And as an Early years TA the story is easily read by children in wonderful way. I can't wait to share this book with my son on Christmas eve!

This is a heartwarming story about a bull terrier. These are such loveable dogs and they more than often get bad press - it is lovely to see a book that may have a positive impact on how the general public view the breed. Great story, great illustrations - wish it came as a board book!
