Love this tool. My ONLY complaint with it is, the groove in the handle. It makes the tool solid and stable, but rubs my hand causing blisters.

The quality of this cultivator should not be underestimated. Yes, the handle is wood, but wood handles have been used for centuries and work well, even if not completely weatherproof like synthetic handles. The claws are fantastically shiny and sharp which makes digging with them better than any other that I have used...they are so sharp that plastic tip protectors are included. The strength lies in its bonding the e tines together better than any other steel cultivator...only one piece aluminum may be stronger but not nearly as sharp.

I needed a pick-like tool for digging into weeds along a seam in a driveway (I was always getting growth there and pulling the weeds often had them break). With this tool I can scoop into the root and pull. But that’s what it’s for, right?What I like most about this tool is that it’s a quality Japan-made tool, not a cheap worthless Chinese tool that’ll rust or break before the year’s over. You can see the quality, from the build to the wood-burned handle. I doubt I will be replacing this anytime soon, and that makes it, or a U.S. made tool, worth a few more $ to me.

It's nice to meet an online purchase which is well-made, rather than being made to look well-made. The handle is tough wood (hickory?), and the cut for the tang is sharp-edged - wear gloves or wrap it in tape or sand it a bit - all these options are better than buying something comfy which is also junk. This is a good working tool. Fits between plants, just long enough tongs to loosen soil for weeding. I have no worries about whether this tool will be ready to use, whenever I reach for it, for the rest of my life.

This is the best weeder/scratcher tool I've ever owned.It's built like a tank and will probably last a very long time.I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

High quality, very sharp, perfect for maneuvering around small plants and seedlings. Easy on the wrist. Love it. Maybe the manufacturer or shipper can figure out a different labeling system, though. The adhesive paper label was wrapped around the entire --- beautiful --- wood handle and took quite a bit of effort to remove completely. Over time, that annoyance will fade. All in all, very happy with this purchase.

Can't wait for Spring so my girlfriend can use it in her gardens. Thanks a bunch!

Hard to get in between vegetable plants in my garden, no longer a problem. This is a well-made Japanese tool, goes deep easily to loosen weed roots so ya get the whole weed & it won't be back!
