Hi there. It’s plays a full octave but have a look at Kickstarter campaign fnd.to/ saxmonica2.0 We are marketing the generation 2 unit that is worth a look There’s a lot of info on the page , videos etc We are about to start producing the unit and will be ready to ship in about 4 weeks .

Q: What are the major differences between gen 1 and gen 2, except gen 2 has more tubes included? thanks.

Each tube plays over 3 keys so by having the extra tubes it gives you far greater options for jamming in other keys. There is more info at jamz.kiwi under the Saxmonica tutorials

Q: is there sheet music for this

No music books or instruction for this instrument. The tutorials in their app are just demonstrations without any instructions on how to do what the player is doing. Too bad because it is an interesting instrument. Thing is, a lot of people are trying to make instruments that can be played without much if any music knowledge. Instruments like that are Native American flutes, Recorders, dulcimers, and other instruments tuned pentatonic (5 note scale). Unfortunately no one has yet to do better than a Native American flute or dulcimer.
