Most of us accept Diabetes, Hypertension, and Obesity as lifestyle diseases. This book argues convincingly that even cancer is a lifestyle disease. Unhealthy lifestyle, particularly food and drink, weaken our body’s natural defences and allows diseases to develop.The good news is that we can set things right by eating healthy and being active. The author makes the point that eating healthy doesn’t mean giving up on the pleasure of food. The last part of the book tells us how we can incorporate some of our favourite foods in a healthy diet. Of course, it doesn’t say that burgers, fries, and fizzy drinks can also be healthy!The book is too long for what it tells us. It could have been reduced to less than half its length without any loss of information or clarity. Hopefully someone will publish a summary of this book, if not already done.

Love it and still use it as a reference regularly
I've bought this book over a year ago and love it! Full of scientific research explained in an as simple as possible way. At times it goes quite much in to detail and I've only read those parts that were important or interesting to me. Love especially the part about the Microbiome because it directly links to the disease I have, colitis ulcerosa. It most definitely helped me to understand the body better and also taught me how to make positive changes for me and my inflamed intestines. Now I've been off my medicine all together for a year or so and I don't have stomach pain. Unbelievable. This book has helped a lot. It also motivated to research individual topics further by myself (such as microbiome, effects of fiber etc).
