Metal Guitar Gauge Action Setup Ruler/Card (Metric & Imperial) (Silver)

I needed this to check a set up on my mandolal. I had done everything by sight, but just wanted to check it against factory specs. This did the job brilliantly. Just as effective as the much more expensive Stewart McDonald version, but at a fraction of the price. It is well made, and has lots of useful markings on it in both imperial and metric. Highly recommended for anyone who does their own setups on a string instrument. It also came extremely quickly.

This was a good buy. A little smaller than I imagined but that's not a fault, it needs to be the size that is otherwise it probably wouldn't work too well. All the edges are smooth and corners rounded, I find the silver font on black very easy to read and very easy to see even the high e string against it. The setup guide on the back is useful to have, especially for us novices! It's nice to be able to read fractions of a millimetre with such ease, no more guessing using a ruler.

Simple to use. Not 100% accurate in my opinion, but damn close!Great little tool for the money.

This is well made and the markings are all clear. The edges are rounded off so it's perfect to use to set the action on my guitars and mandolin. If you are looking for a string action gauge,I reckon this is the one to get. I tried one of the others available on Amazon but it was poor quality. This Spartan one, on the other hand, is very well made and I heartily recommend it.

Essential guitar set up tool or just handy to check your guitars action. Seems well made, accurate and is credit card size so handy to carry with you. Something all guitarists could benefit from

Gradings in 32's not apparent nor are 64's. Get the Stewart Macdonald one instead which has them clearly set.

After misplacing my old setup ruler and needing to use it I found this one which looked like it would be easier to read with it being black and I can confirm it is. On receipt I also found that its actually printed properly unlike my old one which I had to take into consideration that the print was offset by about .5 to 1mm so it wasn't accurate.Pleased to say this is making setup of my guitar much less frustrating. Recommended!

Bought to measure action and saddle height for my guitar. The string height measurement is easy to read due to the black background.I have also purchased a silver action gauge as the black Spartan only measures in whole mm and 1/32nds of an inch. The silver gauge measures in 0.5mm and 1/64ths of an inch. I wanted the finer measurement for measuring height of my nuts. No. Not those nuts.The two gauges give a slightly different string height (only by 0.25mm maximum... note this could be user interpretation too). Not a big deal as I only use the guages to get into the ball park.... I then tweek height by feel and buzz.Check out my photos for composition, lighting, and rule of thirds.... oh and the height of E string at 12th fret... by my eye, black is 2.25 mm and silver is 2.0 mm... Gibson suggested action is 6/64ths ie 2.4 mm... so not a big deal unless you are more concerned about the number.I use both. Black for string height. Silver for half millimetres or 64ths of an inch - saddle and nut height as it is actually easier to read.

Ottimo strumento per la regolazione veloce dell'action delle chitarre. Consigliato a tutti i chitarristi che amano fare da soli la manutenzione del proprio strumento.

Il righello e' preciso e si esprime in pollici e in millimetri. Utile per regolare l'azione, il relief, l'altezza pickup e quant'altro. E' inossidabile e lo scritto e' ben chiaro, sul retro porta indicazioni dei valori standard per chitarra, basso, ecc.Troppo sottile e flessibile, soggetto a deformazioni se usato con poca cura: avrei preferito un po' piu' spesso e rigido.

Questo piccolo misuratore, che occupa lo spazio di una carta di credito, è molto utile per misurare l'altezza delle corde in qualsiasi strumento. Ottimo il fatto che la misurazione sia possibile in millimetri o inches.
