Brilliant complication by Ben Liebrand - a 4 disc set with some gems, brought back many memories.

Another great CD for the collection hope there are more on the way please can you put Richie Family quiet village and cocoa motion mad as hell on the next one please

Great Fan of Ben's Grand -12 inch series of releases. Sometimes not the most commercially obvious choice of tracks but this is his take on personal favourites so I cant blame him for that.The one consistent property of his releases is the pristine quality of the mastering. Alas it seems at least one track doesn't live up to his exacting standards on this selection. Although not one of his best compilations, the inclusion of a decent version of "Eye-to-Eye" was the main draw for this purchase. For some reason that I can't fathom, this track is clearly a vinyl rip with some tracking distortion present on some vocals with the faintest of clicks in the background giving it away. At first I thought I was imagining it but - nope - its really there. I cant believe Mr Liebrand himself would have let a track sounding like this onto one of his flagship releases bearing his name. Its not truly terrible - but once you've heard the vinyl roar and the distortion you cant un-hear it. Shame as the rest of the tracks are clear and up to the usual standard.
