Worked great and printer works again!
Unfortunately, a damaged cartridge broke my printhead. I ordered this to replace it, and now it works great! Easy installation and comes with ink cartridges. The printer did not recognize printhead first time I tried it, so then I removed and put it second time, and it worked!

Like a VW Bug - Easy to Fix
The 8610 All-In-One is one of the best and easiest printers to use and fix. I’ve had it almost 8 years with ZERO issues. Then, all of a sudden, I received an error message, saying the printer head is not functioning. I tried everything I could find online to fix it. I bought replacement printer and got it. Super quick, took it out of the box. Within one minute, it was installed The printer was doing an alignment test. Works perfect and came with a whole set of cartridges. So I just paid $88 a month ago that was a problem package came with all the cartridges and only cost $140.

Saved the day!
I don't review often but had to here. I had just invested in over $100 in new HP XL cartridges for my HP Officejet Pro 8100. The printer stopped printing and from the panel display and manual - I determined the issue was the print head. So a little online searching turned up this printhead replacement on Amazon. At $159, I wondered about the value for what was probably a $250 printer when it was bought and its provided years of service. Looking at HP replacements though, anything "business class" was over $300. So at $159 and it comes with starter cartridges [which you MUST use], all of a sudden - the value looked better. Plus - I hate change - I like this printer - and it's already installed on the network. So I took the plunge - the product took the week indicated to arrive - and was HP OEM as advertised - all new in the blister pack. The instructions were 100% clear -> remove all cartridges (save for later use - the blister pack is reusable - so perfect for storage), replace the print head - load the starter cartridges- close the lid. The bad print head icon on the display immediately went away and after a couple of minutes, it recognized the cartridges. A few minutes later (as it auto-aligns the head) it printed the alignment page perfectly. DO NOT lose patience and touch any controls until the alignment page comes out - it really does take some time. I then printed a test page from the control panel - perfecto! So it seems if you have the right printer and the issue is really the print head - this is HP OEM and it works! I don't need a new printer and I can continue to use my investment in ink. Hopefully, I can get several more years from this printer - or be lucky enough to have empty cartridges next time it dies :)PS: I was going to do 4 stars for value - but after rethinking what is probably only $100 or less cost after using the starter cartridges and not needing to recycle my recently purchased ink - the value is actually pretty good = 5*'s.

HP Genuine Part -- Working like new again!
I used my HP 8600 Officejet Pro Plus until I completely drained the cyan cartridge. BIG MISTAKE! For the 9+ years I owned this fabulous all-in-one printer, I had never experienced one problem with it. Initially, I replaced the cartridge and was able to print about 7-8 pages, but then received a message saying there was something wrong with the cartridge and it needed it to be replaced again. Replacing this new cartridge with another new cyan, my printer still wouldn’t work, giving me a “General Print Error” message and saying there was an “Ink System Failure”. Spending hours on the HP Support website, reading suggested fixes and watching YouTube videos to troubleshoot, I concluded it was probably due to a clogged nozzle and elected to clean the printhead by soaking it in a very warm water bath -- but it didn’t fix the problem. (Through all the reading, I also learned that when warned that a cartridge is running low on ink, one should plan to replace it fairly soon. Drawings showing that as the ink depletes, air can seep in to further dry the ink and cause the nozzle to clog.) A costly mistake that I won’t make again!!!Since I was only interested in buying a genuine HP replacement part, Everything Business Depot on Amazon became the “go-to” vendor. Considering that four HP XL cartridges are included within the cost of the HP printhead, the decision to buy was a no brainer. It was well worth the money. I placed the order and received the box two days later. Within 10 minutes, all were installed and my printer was working just like new again! Thank you to everyone who posted reviews here as the info was extremely beneficial!

Good buy but tricky to start
Comes with a full set of XL ink cartridges so a good buy. Easy to install but I had difficulty getting it to start. Went online and got lots of advice including to turn the printer off and on, etc. Finally in almost a footnote someone said - or unplug the printer - presto. One might try cleaning the old printhead with alcohol/

Genuine HP part. Fixed my OfficeJet Pro 8160
My OfficeJet Pro 8610 started showing a "Printhead failed or missing" message last week so I replaced the printhead with this part and the printer works perfectly again. Kudos to HP for (1) making the head replaceable and (2) making it incredible simple to do. After installing the printhead and setup cartridges that came in the box, the printer immediately started the alignment process but nothing happened. The message just sat there on the printer screen for several minutes, the printer did nothing and the HP Smart app showed the printhead alignment was not completed. I unplugged the printer, waited 15 seconds, plugged it back in and the alignment process restarted and finished without issue. Overall - not a cheap fix, but cheaper and less hassle then buying and setting up a new printer.
