Excellent belt, built well
I have had this belt since October 2010. This belt has held up very well and has stretched very little. I have only worn belts regularly for 2 years, at first, I thought that all belts were created equally. I was wrong. I initially purchased a generic 10 dollar belt at a local store. Within half of a year, the belt was excessively worn on the sides, the belt peeled apart in layers, and the majority of the inside of the belt where the buckle was when the belt was worn, was shredded. The belt was still barely holding together, but I retired it and decided to buy a good belt.It has been nearly a year and this belt, the Carhartt Men's Journeyman Belt, has shown little wear. In my experience, the leather gets a bit dry, but using mink oil 2-3 times a year solves this problem. This is not the fault of the belt, leather get dry. If anything, this is a testament to the belt being actual leather.I highly recommend this belt, do not waste your money on a low quality belt.Update 9/18/2012 : This belt is still going strong. After the first six months or so of minor stretching (half a size to maybe a size; no more than one hole on the belt) the belt has not stretched more. It has been nearly two years of daily wear and the belt is still holding together well. The areas where the belt has worn most have turned a light gray to brown in color. The belt is still thick, strong, and pliable after two years. This belt costs about twice what the local junk belts cost, but lasts at least 4 times as long. That is value.

Too Wide!
Please keep in mind, this review has nothing to do with the quality of this belt as I never even opened the plastic bag it came in. My problem was with the style/look of the belt. This is a really wide belt, one of the widest I've seen! I'm thinking construction worker with a tool pouch hanging off of it kind of wide. If this is the look you are going for, you'll like the belt. I bought it as a casual jeans belt. For this purpose, it was a bit too much. The finish looked a little like plastic or something too. It just wasn't the right belt for me. The two women in my office who were present when I opened the box felt the same way. It's going right back to Amazon.

No impressed. Expected more from Carhartt
First of all let me say that I'm a HUGE Carhartt fan. Their work pants and clothing has always been rock solid and stellar. I even own two other Carhartt dress belts that I really like. But this Journeyman's belt falls short for me. It feels light weight and cheap feeling. It technically works and hasn't failed yet but I was expecting something heavier, and more robust feeling. This thing just feels cheap, synthetic, and flimsy. I would not be recommending this belt to anyone.

Very sturdy belt
I bought this belt as a spare. I've had my original for about five years and it has held up very well. I originally bought it to support an in-the-pants holster for concealed carry, but use it all the time with jeans. It fits perfectly in the loops and is solidly built. I wear a waist size of 31 in jeans and ordered a size 34, and it is perfect. My original belt is a size 36 and I use the very last hole, so if I lose any weight, it won't fit me any longer.

Solid belt, will hold up through anything
I bought this for work. I wear out pretty much all of my clothes in no time, and belts are no exception. This belt is simple, dependable, and built to handle whatever you can throw at it.The size is accurate, and the width is a bit on the large side. I've never had an issue fitting it through my pants or shorts, but it's something that should be noted. The single piece of leather won't wear out, it seems stitched well, and the buckle will hold up. This was a great purchase at a great price, I would recommend it to anyone in need of a high-quality item!

Durable and well made ...
While some say the size runs small, mine was right size for me. I've compared it to other belts of same size and they seem to be of equal length. The width feels snug through belt loops but it's not a problem. The belt is made of quality leather and materials. It is durable and reasonably priced.

Dissapointing
Just received today and belt had obviously used. Kind of glad in a way. It was used but didn't look like for long but the backing of the leather on the inside was separating in several spots. Looks like if I would have gotten a new belt this would be an issue down the road.

Not sure what the 1*s are about, this is epic.
This thing is a trooper, took the buckle off and replaced it with one of my favorite ones. and this thing as delivered every day. I do flooring and tiling, on houses in the winter, and pools in the summer. I have beat the hell out of this thing, has help up beyond my expectations. Im 6'5" 260 lbs, i like to wear my belts tight, and normally the slots for the buckle like ot stretch, but no issues here. IF I EVER need a new belt, i will definitely get another one of these.
