Very nice!
This bank is made of a very sturdy clear and gray plastic. I know this is probably for kids but I purchased it for myself. It’s fun. I think this would be great for children. They have two visuals. They can put a coin in through the lid and I think it counts the coins by size. It has a digital readout that tells you how much money you have saved. This is a great feature because it has a memory. More importantly, children can watch their savings grow because the jar is clear. Very nice product!

Great for kids
My son is always counting his money and wanting to know how much he has in his bank. This is perfect for him to be able to put all of his money into one jar and it counts it for him and has ability to add your dollars manually and count the coins, the only downfall is that it did not automatically come with a battery so I had to put that in, but other than that, it’s great!

Updated review!!!
UPDATE 6-20-2016:Filltech read my review and reached out to me to make things right. I really appreciated that! They sent a replacement bank free of charge as the one I received was defective and wouldn't count coins right. The replacement is 100% working and is not as hard to insert the coins. It counts them as fast as you can put them in and it gets the pennies and dimes right every time. I recommend this bank and seller because if it's defective, they will make it right!I had somewhat high hopes for this coin bank, but it's not 100% accurate. It's main problem is distinguishing between dimes and pennies. As far as I can tell it has a lever that is supposed to detect the size of the coin and add that denomination to the total. It doesn't always work. Dimes and pennies get miscounted no matter how slow or fast you put them in. I put in $2 worth pennies and the count was $2.64 because of it counting some of the pennies as dimes. I corrected the count, then added some dimes, which at least four of them were counted as pennies. I think it's overpriced for this reason. If it kept a better count and the jar was glass and came with batteries....then it would be worth $18. As it stands now it's maybe a $5 bank. It might be alright for some people and I like the design and size of it, but probably will pass on buying it again.

Okay, but needs some improvements
This coin bank is okay but not exactly what I had in mind. First of all, in order to install the batteries, you'll need a super small philips screwdriver to remove the compartment cover. The bank does not come with one so you'll need to have one on hand. Also the coin counter is too sensitive. It will add the value of a coin before the coin is actually inserted, which leads to an inaccurate value count. This is because the slot requires quite a bit of force in order for the coin to drop, but the digital sensor detects the coin simply by something touching it. The coin count value should NOT be added until the coin has fully passed the sensor and fallen into the jar. Fix these issues, make the jar much larger and I'd say that this bank would be a winner.

Learning about coins while saving
I have had a digital coin bank for years used as a savings jar. I recently purchased one for my son. I wasn't sure that was grasping the concept that coins can add up to a good savings. Being able to see each coin go in and the amount added immediately has helped in this area. The jar is plastic and a bit thinner but works great for this purpose.

Sturdy and Accurate Coin Counter
This coin bank is awesome! It is just spacious enough that it holds a lot of coins, but still small enough that it doesn't take up much space on your desk! It is accurate and very sturdy! It is battery operated and easy to use!

Worked only for 2 minutes, extremely cheap quality..
My daughter has been using a jar for her piggy bank , so I was excited to find this , since it can keep track of how much it is , instead of her having to go to grocery store and use coinstar machine. She opened it up , put batteries in , and tested it with a couple coins and it worked. She went to her bed room to grab her jar of coins and start loading them and it stopped working , the display was blank as if it was off or batteries were dead, tried replacing with three sets of new batteries and still nothing, tried hitting the reset button , nothing. Was very disappointed , and the quality of this was absolute garbage, looks like it cost less then a dollar to make. Made in China , not surprised. I recommend everyone to stay away from it. I even emailed the vendor direct and let them know what was going on, the email was on a piece of paper that came with it , saying they stand by there product and if I have difficulties I can emai them. I got no response , it’s been 4 days now.If there is another piggy bank I can find that counts I’ll be trying that , and I recommend others do the same and skip this one.
