Cape Collection Pattern Suitable to Make Renaissance - Colonial - Victorian - Edwardian Capes and Cloaks

The patterns are pretty easy to follow if you know how to sew. If this is your first pattern, not so much.

The pattern was well made and there is an instruction book. However I am a intermediately skilled seamstress and this pattern was difficult. The instructions not explicit and left many instructions out. Of particular annoyance was how to adjust the pattern for a shorter lining length. When the four pieces were sewn together, the ends were all different lengths. I tried it twice and it just didn't work. I needed to do a log of adjustment after the fact.The instructions do not give any clues as th how wide a fabric you must buy and how many yards. Being experienced I was pretty close on my calculations.I would not recommend this patter to a novice seamstress. If you can sew, you can be successful with this pattern.

You definitely need to know how to sew to use this pattern. It doesn't tell you how much fabric to buy, there are not pattern connection markings, etc. So if you are skilled, it has many options. If you are a novice tailor/seamstress, perhaps find another pattern?
