Great Tool with a Learning Curve - Worth It for Serious Griddle Users
As an avid home griddle operator, I'd been wanting one of these butter rollers for ages. The trusted Cuisinart brand finally convinced me to pull the trigger. Anything I say from here on out does not reflect on the great quality of the product, stainless steel pan, and roller with easy design for quick cleaning and use. Mostly they are use case observations I had not considered myself before buying: Rookie Mistakes (So You Don't Have To!): ❌ Mistake #1 - Melting Butter Directly in Pan: Don't do this! Butter clumps got stuck in the rolling grate, creating messy, uneven application. ✅ Better Method: Pre-melt butter gently in microwave or stove top and pour into the pan. Atleast make sure you melt in the pan on the griddle long enough. ❌ Mistake #2 - Multiple Passes: This thing delivers A LOT of butter in just one pass! I thought I needed multiple rolls and ended up with soggy, limp toast from over-buttering. ✅ Better Method: One pass is plenty - trust the process! The Cleanup Reality: Once the pan cools, you need to decide what to do with leftover butter immediately: - Add to pancakes/scrambled eggs - Scrape and toss in paper napkin - Let it cool and scrape later Not recommended to heat, cool and re-use. Only use enough butter - 1 stick at a time maybe? Size Considerations: ⚠️ Important: This is bulky - may get in the way on medium-sized griddles. Keep this in mind for your setup. My Strategy: I save buttering toast for last after cooking everything else and cleaning the surface. Since toast only takes seconds on a griddle, this timing works perfectly. Bottom Line: Once you get past the learning curve, this is genuinely helpful for large meals where speed matters. Griddle cooking happens in real-time, and this tool eliminates a pain point. Best for: Serious griddle users making griddled sandwiches and large meals Not for: Casual users or small griddles (overkill) Final tip: RESPECT THE BUTTER OUTPUT - it's more than you think! Still happy with my purchase despite the initial frustrations. Good value for the price - this was the least expensive one I could find and it has the Cuisinart Brand .

Get your griddle chef an unexpected gift
If you are grilling sandwiches on your Blackstone (or griddle of choice), step up your game and get this butter wheel. I first saw this in the work cafeteria. It evenly applies butter to bread and gives you the golden crisp a sandwich cooked on a griddle top deserves.

A time-saver for production
Why this product: anyone who has eaten buttered, toasted hamburger and hotdog buns knows that they make burgers and dogs even more delicious! A friend who runs a restaurant showed me this product and I thought I needed it for our big summer BBQs. After trying it out several times, I came to these conclusions: In order to be effective, I need to load it to start with at least half a pound of butter; I would only use this when I have to butter more than about 20 buns (less than that and I just prefer to stick to a butter spatula for softened or a basting brush for liquid butter); it is designed to only work when the butter is melted and there is plenty of butter in it, so either keep it near a heat source, or melt your butter in a separate pot; be careful when picking it up as the metal may be hot; the vessel design feels and looks very modern like other Cuisineart products on top, but be careful of the stand part below - the edges of the feet are sharp and seem less refined. Cleaning: this is not very convenient to clean and it’s hard not to waste some butter - unless you have a plan to conserve the butter by pouring it out to save while it’s still in liquid form. Remove as much butter as possible before cleaning in the sink with hot, soapy water and a soft brush, or running it through the dishwasher. Who is this for: this product is not really for most home cooks or backyard BBQers; it is designed for people who make and serve a lot of burgers and/or dogs and have time to prep.

The stainless steel butter wheel is absolutely amazing. It makes buttering bread so fast and easy — just roll the bread across the wheel and it’s perfectly coated. It’s super sturdy and very easy to clean. It’s perfect for making grilled cheese sandwiches (my favorite), garlic bread, or prepping buns for the grill. I wish I had brought one sooner, for sure! This was a brilliant invention! It’s totally essential for anyone who cooks in batches or loves buttery bread!!

Tall
Takes a while to heat butter needs shorter legs had to wait to continue using. Going to make manual adjustments to lower it closer to griddle.

White elephant.
Very disappointed in this, purchased primarily to speed up prep for bread and butter pudding, my recipe calling for 75g of butter required 250g for a patchy application, as the bread was stale I decided to use it on fresh to see what difference it made and I’m sad to say very little at all.
