I was honestly surprised by how solid this was when it showed up. The latch seems like it’s upside down but not as an installation error, just a design flaw. Usually they latch downward. This latches upward. It keeps the lock visually in the correct place that we would expect a chest to have it but i just feel like they could have switched this up and maybe used a different style latch. The leather looks great tho and goes perfectly with the color of the wood. The little lion heads and metal accessories are a great touch. We’re using this as a treasured moments chest for mine and my wife's memories together like concert tickets or wristbands or shells from the beach and whatever else comes our way. Over all i’m extremely happy with it.

This little chest it great - use it for trade shows all the time. We put a bunch f company tokens in it - looks amazing. we bought a separate skeleton lock to give it an old time pirate look. Box is sturdy. It's been shipped around the country several times full of coins, handled a bunch, and still looks great. We lined ours with a silky like fabric to make it "pop" against the gold coins. Very authentic looking. Would buy it again for sure.

Although the chest could be more sturdy overall it was a great buy. I bought this for my brother and he is gonna absolutely love it. Feels and looks like an authentic pirate treasure chest. It comes with a tiny little lock like something you would put on your luggage. unfortunately you can put a big lock on it but still great. Highly Recommend!

Nice rustic piece, not the strongest but for the price did t expect it to be, throw an old timey pad lock on it and bam! Perfect scavenger hunt prize!

I bought this for Halloween and I am able to use it now and I like the storage capacity

The hasp latch was missing. It is made from paneling which is stapled to paneling. Some of the staples missed and are not holding anything. The bottom is very thin paneling or luan, which will not hold any weight. The handles are screwed into the paneling, so they will not hold anything if you try to lift by the lion rings. It shows shoddy craftmanship and is cheaply built. Total waste of money in my opinion. It is not worth the money. It looks good from far away, but not up close. The whole thing may weigh 5 lbs. Light, thin, cheap, sent it back. Thanks Amazon for letting me send this thing back for a refund.

Very light in construction, lot of Staples showing. Numerous nails sticking through. It's too light for what I need. We'll have to reinforce in order to make use of it on the back end of my rat rod bucket t.

A little pricey, but I am so pleased with this lightweight roomy and attractively designed tickle trunk. The lion's head fixtures holding the ring-shaped carrying handles add a "far-flung" exotic destination feel. Just love it!

Cheaply made piece of garbage. When spending this much, you think you would get some quality, instead it looks like something you would buy for your kid. Leather banding is nothing more then cheap fabric. Locking mechanism and rings are cheap hardware store items. The wood used to give it an “antique look” is nothing more then cheap panel board. This is just an over priced toy.

For the money that they want for it, it is a rip off. It should sell for about 40 bucks. Its really just a kids toy. Made very cheaply out of wood that looks more like cardboard.
