Review: So easy to follow, understand and practice! - I absolutely love this book so far, Iโm already on page 25. It is extremely easy to understand considering I have only ever played by ear as a kid (8-13) and Iโm now 47 years old lol but itโs extremely easy to follow and I can even show you a little video of me in action with the book but what I particularly LOVEEEE is with pretty much every lesson there is a QR code that you can scan to see the lesson being played so itโs going to show you exactly how to do each lesson correctly. so itโs extremely helpful as Iโm doing this without a teacher all by myself!!! ๐คฉ๐ฌ

Perfect for beginner
As a beginner, I found this book to be an excellent resource. I strongly recommend learning with a structured book instead of relying only on apps. The supporting videos for each topic are a great addition and help reinforce the concepts and techniques taught in the lessons.

Very user friendly
Wonderful and easy to follow instructions. I took piano as a kid and hated it! I am now 57 and for the last few years have been wishing I knew how to play. My 10 year-old niece started piano last year and I decided to try again but I had no idea where to start. Then I found this book. I have already advanced greatly in just a few weeks. I love practicing and I try to get at least two hours a day. One of the things I like about the book are the videos that correspond to the piece you are playing. This is very helpful. Like having a teacher sitting with you. If you are on the fence about the purchase just do it! I also recommend the physical book since there are work sheets which would be impossible to do with kindle. Very happy customer ๐ฅฐ

Great content, but missing pages in my copy
This book itself is fantastic. I'm an adult beginner teaching myself and it has been an incredible resource. I don't think I would have learned anything at all without it. The lessons are clearly written, logical, and build on each other for a well rounded foundation in reading music and playing skillfully. I will soon be leveling up to the next book, and have worked at this one for several months. It makes me excited to play piano. That being said, I just discovered that the copy I received is missing pages 151-168. In their place are duplicate pages of 121-136. I'm pretty disappointed because it's now past the return window. I'm missing part of unit 14, all of unit 15, and part of unit 16. Ill have to try and find these lessons elsewhere so I donโt miss important theory. Other than that, I do recommend this book for learning piano. There have only been a couple of short exercises that are specifically meant for a teacher or friend to help with, so the majority is great for someone self-teaching, especially with the bonus online content.

Extremely Well Thought Out In a Big Way
I've used books from Alfred's collection in the past and found them fairly good for learning with or without a teacher. If you look at the second image I shared with parts of Amazing Grace on it, you get a good idea of what they're trying to do and to me it is brilliant that they're teaching these aspects so early in the pianist's learning process. These will build good habits as a result. If you notice they have both L.H. and R.H. next to the numbers in the book. You will also notice that the numbers are up and down around the words, and this is laying out the groundwork for paying attention to the way the music is flowing up and down the staff. Not only is it doing that, but by showing you the finger numbers you get an early subconscious introduction to how Intervals work. Of course, the very fact that they have you playing with both hands from the start is also very good for building that foundation. I'm currently at Page 60 and I do not see any real issues learning this on your own, but if you have questions there are plenty of forums, Facebook groups, reddit groups, or other ways to find your answers. Honestly, the little details that I had to learn the hard way, make all the difference in this book and they really set it apart as one of the better beginners' books for learning. I know some people are upset about the pieces that are included, but honestly, I find they're appropriate for beginners and if you're struggling with those, you can pick up the supplemental book (Adult Piano Adventures Popular Book 1) for more modern pieces, or the classical supplement. Either way, the book is appropriate and if you find you're beyond those pieces, then maybe you should start with a different book in the series. Overall, I'm fairly impressed with the books flow and information... I would recommend this to anyone just starting out as an adult beginner.

Great method, well laid out format
Donโt waste your time with free lessons on YouTube. This book is easy to follow, has video links so you can hear the piece and then you can play along with wonderfully goofy accompaniment, which is provided even for simple warm ups. I also found the FYI short videos that Randall does throughout very helpful. The unrelated YouTube Lets Play Along for the Faber series videos good for very slow practice (I skip to the end of those videosโ I donโt find his preambles very helpful). What makes this series a standout is the pacing. Itโs also nice to go back to earlier lessons and feel triumphant.

Great book. Good tunes. Makes learning fun.
This was recommended to me by my school teacher (I'm now a working professional for the last 15 years)... and I can see why she was so keen I use this book and no other. Definitely recommended!

Pretty good intro to piano
It's a little book but you can understand the basics. I strongly advise for producers who want to learn how to play a little the midi keyboard.

Perfect for beginners.
Loce it. I know zero of piano. It's easily explain but not to childish. Enough to challenge but not frustrat you. I'm loving it. But take in consideration it take time, and it's very exhausting to play. It looks like a sport XD BTW, even if you don't know most of the songs, you can try to guess and then check online to see if your guess was correct (all songs have a QR code to see the example). It worth it's value. Perfect first book.
