Works!
This water sensor works perfectly. I have tested it with small and large quantities of water and it detects both immediately. Setup is easy and it connects to the rest of my Ring system flawlessly. I don't know why these seem to be discontinued. They are a great addition to any Ring system.

A "must have" for laundry rooms and boiler rooms UPDATED 9/16/20
I tested it and it works- installed in my furnace room so if my boiler springs a leak I'll know before it destroys my basement. It's simple, no frills, installs easily and then you just place it and forget it. I think the only thing I'd prefer is if it adhered to the floor so if it gets bumped it won't shoot across the room like a hockey puck. One can add double sided tape to keep it in place. The first time someone swept the floor down there, it was bumped and sent under the boiler where it melted. Oops! ***UPDATED 9/16/20: We broke one of these, my fault, and I replaced it. This little device saved me GOBS of money when it detected a broken water heater. My wife got the alert on her phone and I told her it had to be a false alarm, as I looked in the furnace room and there was no water. I was wrong... I picked the sensor up and it was wet- there WAS water, but not from the boiler. The water came under the wall from the water heater in the next room! Immediately, we went into damage control and shut off water, hooked a hose to the damaged tank, and threw everything we had at containing the water. Another hour and over $50K in stereo speakers and electronics would have been sitting in the water and all the carpet ruined. We ordered more of these and today I'm ordering another one to "hack" into a communications trigger for my boiler- you can hack this device to trigger with a relay so with a little modification I'll get a notice on my phone if my EnviraCom enabled boiler controller sense a problem and shuts the heat down.

Works as advertised, not some cheap knock off.
Works as advertised. BUT, read the fine print you still need the base alarm even if you got a chime pro and all the other ring gizmos. Once you purchase the base alarm(sold separately for you illiterates like me) you can have it make all the beeps and squeaks if it detects water and it can even call your phone and/or 911 for you if you choose. Anyways it works great, easy to connect to your other ring devices, it’s sleek design makes it easy to plop somewhere and it not be a complete eye sore. Over all great improvement to security of my house and could possibly save you THOUSANDS in water damages if there ever was a leak.

Reliable, big, no temp sensor
We replaced our Samsung SmartThings leak sensors with these as we are moving over to the ring eco-system for security and home protection. These were easy to install and easy to integrate into the system. One of them may not have connected but a quick restart and it was up and running. These sensors are scattered across 5000 sq ft or so on 2 floors. We have minimal repeaters and hardwired devices as we still use SmartThings for our lights. These sensors have never lost connectivity where the SmartThings sensors would- even when close to the hub and in a house filled with SmartThings repeaters. The Ring Leak Sensor seem to work reliably and have already detected a temperature issue as well as a small leak behind our washing machine. Ring calls us when there is an issue which I prefer over the SmartThings which pushed notifications or texted. My two problems with these sensors: They are big; in fact huge compared to the smartthings version (both new and updated). Luckily we had some room next to our washer and dryer and I was able to remove the front grate of our built in fridge to slide one underneath but the SmartThings sensors could fit in hot water heater and washer pans as they are 66% smaller. Secondly these Ring sensors do not have a temperature sensor like the SmartThings sensors. I can check the current temperature and be alerted of leaks in the basement using one SmartThings sensor. The Ring doesn’t have that feature; it just warns you when the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Fine for some applications but if my house has hit 40 degrees, then I would have liked to have known there was a heating problem at 50 degrees...or really at whatever point I want...which SmartThings allows for.

I picked up one of these water sensors to pair with my Ring alarm system and placed it under the kitchen sink. About a week later, I started receiving repeated notifications from it. At first, I assumed it was a false alarm ..... but when I checked, I found an actual plumbing leak. Thanks to this sensor, I was able to catch the issue early and avoid what could have turned into a costly repair. I was so impressed, I ordered two more for other areas in the house. Setup was simple, integration with Ring was seamless, and the alerts came through exactly as expected. These sensors provide an extra layer of protection and peace of mind, especially in places like under sinks, behind toilets, or near appliances. Highly recommend adding these to your Ring system if you want early warning against potential water damage. It’s a small investment that can save you a lot in the long run.

Very easy to set up and connect to your existing system. First alert happened in the middle of the night when our septic system backed up due to septic pump failure and we didn’t know there was an issue with the pump. It’s a great little device and I definitely recommend it.

Added this to our system of Ring ecosystem, just as nobody really inspects that furnace room as much as we should - so having this peace of mind addon was a no brainer as pricing wasn't too farfetched. This flood/freeze Ring Alarm Sensor, is very easy to add to your Ring Security System via the app. I simply placed it on the floor of my utility devices in the furnace room. So if a leak develops, or the heat fails long enough to cause freezing, I'll get an alert on my phone. Not 100% if it's effective, but I also don't want to find out either.... BUT consider this cheap insurance against massive water damage at a fraction of the costs that it may induce. Setup was ease.
