We've had a lot of these over the years and usually the cats have one completely shredded in a month or two. The cardboard scratching surface on this product is manufactured with a tighter /denser process, because the cats are shredding it away much more slowly--it's got a lot of small holes and they don't pull the cardboard apart as readily--so it holds up to more scratching. Our cats love it, and are on it multiple times a day. And, while you can turn it over at some point to get more use out of it ,we purchased our first one (I've got a few stored up for the future in case they stop being manufactured anytime soon) in April of 2020 and I have not even turned it over yet and it's October 2020. For three cats scratching on it several times a day, that's not bad. It does lose little bits so you do have to vacuum around it occasionally, but this one seems quite durable for what it is. It also has a nicer aesthetic than most --an Asian fish design on the side, which actually looks pretty cool. I did have to glue one of the decorated side pieces down again, as it came loose on one side--but that was easily fixed and I have nothing but good things to say about this scratcher. Excellent value for the money--looks good, cats really enjoy it because the can really scratch on it--they like the tighter weave of the cardboard--the tinier holes.

My 17 pound cat absolutely adores this scratcher. Every time he comes into the family room he goes straight to the scratcher to scratch (and rarely tries to scratch the couch anymore). For the best chance at getting your cat to use this, I suggest placing it within 5-7 feet of the furniture your cat likes to scratch most, if at all possible. My cat likes to sit on top of this scratcher for long periods of time (his whole body fits on it when he is sitting with his front feet curled up in front of him). He also loves to lay on it (the fact that he has to lay half on and half off if he wants to stretch out doesn't bother him in the slightest). The curved design of the board helps to make it hard for him to flip the board when he's scratching it (he actually also sits on the back while scratching, which helps make it even less likely to flip over). He's been using it daily for 3 months and we haven't had to flip it to the other side yet. Well worth the money we spent!

I have purchased this cat scrather pad large size for years. The one I received this month was obviously smaller. I measured it and the website dimensions are accurate but unfortunately it didn't occur to me to check the dimensions before my purchase since I bought many in the past. Very disappointing. I liked it because I have a large cat and although the width dimension changed slightly and the height changed, I will look for one that is the size of this companys old design. Other than the size, it is a good quality scratch pad so for a small cat it would be worth the buy.

This is my third time purchasing the scratching post and I’ve noticed that the size keeps getting smaller and smaller. I have two cats that uses this quite often and one is bigger. The bigger car loves to lay on it but it doesn’t look like she will be laying on this one as much :-(

Cat loves the scatching board. It has a fancy design. And it comes with a small bag of catnip. I adopted the stray cat. And this is the first scratching board I have ever bought. Somehow the cat knew excatly what to do with the board. She loves scratching it. And uses it as a resting place to lie down briefly. Good product!

I don't know if my adopted cat had had one of these before, but she took to the first one right away, sniffing it first, then tearing at it a bit, then sitting on it. By the second day, she was scratching on it, and after that, she was lying on it. I bought this to stop her from scratching the rug which she was still doing, but less, so I bought a second one. She watched me open the package. When we got to the point where she could see what was in the package, she stood and watched impatiently, and the minute I put it down, she claimed it. Now I have one in two parts of the living room where she can see me, and she scratches them, lies down lengthwise and crosswise, and uses them as a pillow. The catnip helped in the beginning, but now she uses them because they are hers, and she whimpers when I have to move them on cleaning day.
