I like that this book has recipes for the items that you have canned. They also tell you how to used the canned items in a meal.

This book was all I wanted, and some things I didn't even know I needed! Not only does it emphasize SAFE canning practices, it does it in a manner that makes it easy to prepare ready-to-eat canned meals, assuring that all jars contain consistent amounts of product. You aren't going to have one jar of stew with mostly potatoes, and one with mostly meat. I have not tried any of the actual recipes just yet, as I just received the book a week ago. However, I have ear-marked about half the book and am eager to start! My garden will be expanded this year, and I will be canning until my heart is content! In addition, the book is full of healthy meals...you don't have to wonder what is in your food when you can it yourself. You will know! I did see one error in the book on a chili recipe that calls for 4 cups of ground cumin (for 7 quarts), but that is the only thing I noticed that I was disappointed in. You don't have to be a 'Prepper' to appreciate this canning book!
