Good quality, great for brewing beer!
I bought this to brew ten gallon batches of beer and believe it is very good quality for the price. The temp gauge was accurate and the ball valves worked as they should and did not leak. Installing the hardware was easy when following the included instructions. They even provide plumbers tape. The pot is very durable... Mine came ever so slightly out of round (enough for me to notice and bother me but not smashed or damaged by any means) and it is very hard to try and bend it back. The steel used to make this item appears to be good quality. The handles are sturdy and welded on. Not as good of quality of welds as higher priced items but very good for this price point. My propane burner got soot all over it on the outside and the wort on the inside left a sticky mess when I was finished brewing. Both came off with no problem except the very bottom on the outside which was exposed to direct flame and had some remaining black char which I expected. Overall I'm very happy with this pot and will likely buy two more eventually to finish my Brew system. I definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to Brew ten gallon batches of homebrew beer.

first impression , high priced but worked fine
heavy duty, well made , looks cool. bought a 40 quart for a 15 lb turkey , 30 might of been big enough , not using it till this weekend . Lucky i had a back up heat gage ,the one on the cooker only goes up to 220, you , need 375/400 for a turkey, I drilled a hole in the lid and put a gage in from the top . You have to turn the gas up wide open to get the oil up to temp because of the heavy gage tank, but when you get there you can just turn it down to an idle.

Nice kettle - read the trick for preventing leaks
The Good: My kettle showed up well packaged with bubble wrap and dent free. All the parts were there. It was exactly as pictured. This is a high quality pot. Heavy gauge and the handles are firmly riveted in place. The lid fits well and has a handle which is welded on nicely. The kettle really shines. It has "60 QT" etched on the side. The top edge of the kettle is rolled as is the edge of the cover making a nice smooth surface. Adds some rigidity as well. The lid hangs nicely from the handles. They are obviously made for this function. The holes are nicely finished no burrs or rough spots. I compared the thermometer to my glass stick thermometer. It was spot on out of the box. I have one of the same thermometers for my mash tun. That one came about four degrees off but they both have an adjuster on the back for calibration Observation: The kettle holds 16 gallons to the edge. 15 gallons leaves 1.25" to spare. Edit: I carefully measured the volume this weekend so I could etch volume markers. The kettle holds 15 gallons exactly to the edge. I must have had too many home brews the first time. The drain hole height will leave a gallon of liquid in the bottom of the kettle. It takes 6 gallons to cover the thermometer probe. That's O.K with me since I will be using it to measure the temperature of strike water and hot liquor. The Thermometer probe sticks 2.75 inches inside the kettle. I suppose this would accommodate the addition of a sight gauge however, it may be annoying to those doing brew in a bag. My other thermometer has a shorter probe. Although I don't do brew in a bag I may swap it out if it becomes annoying when stirring or using my wort chiller. The Not perfect (but still OK): The instructions say to wrap around nine wraps of supplied Teflon tape around the coupler threads before inserting the couplers through the holes in the kettle. I found that the tolerance of the holes to the coupler made it nearly impossible to get the coupler through the hole without damaging the tape. I struggled a couple of times and still had a leak. I solved the problem by applying my aquarium hobby experience with bulkheads. A PVC bulkhead has a flat flange for the gasket to sit against. The flange is part of the coupler assembly and serves the same function as the outside washer supplied by Concord. The problem with the washer is that it is NOT sealed to the coupler so leaks can develop around the inside of the washer. The solution is to use a little bead of RTV silicon to stick the outside face of the washer to the coupler. This sealed it up nicely without all of that tape and I will be able to disassemble it without struggling to get it back together without leaks. Solder might work for those that are handy. It goes (from the outside) coupler > silicon bead > washer > outside seal > kettle wall > inside seal > washer > nut There are no graduation inside the kettle. I solved this by making a stick with graduations. The graduations are 1.25" apart. Summary: This is a very nice and economical kettle. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to make beer or do a clam bake for 20 people. I would definitely buy it again. I would have given five stars but for the lack of graduations and the thread tape method of assembly. Update: As indicated above the pot holds 15 gallons to the edge. I have had 4 brew days witht this kettle and I am quite happy with it. The bottom has stayed flat too which is something I was worried about

This thing is a beast!
I've never really wanted to lift 25 gallons of anything at the same time, but I will say the handles held the one time I did it. Probably wasn't the full 25 (I'm not the Mountain), but still. Use it with a false bottom. So nice to be able to take it to the sink and scrub it clean between batches with the sprayer. Temp gauge is fairly accurate, SS is thick enough that all the banging around I've done has it still looking new. I've smacked it pretty hard and there's not a dent. Definitely recommend. And seriously, the whole leaking thing from other peeps here in the reviews . . . . They are just fittings with silicone gaskets . . . just like every other brew pot or fitting you are going to buy. Tighten them up, but not hard enough to rupture the gasket. Buy a new gasket if you break one or get a defective one. The pot is great, stop gritching about leaks. Ball valve is great although I may take the position lock off, it's screwed me a couple times already when I only had one hand to turn it back off . . . . crap!

christmas present to myself
i've been brewing for about 6 years with an aluminum pot and weak burner, recently upgraded my system to this 15 gal kettle and a KAB4 burner. haven't brewed with it yet but i assembled, brought to a boil and leak tested. the valve, thermometer and fittings all seem of good quality, after reading comments of leaking i was sure to be diligent. when wrapping the threads with the provided teflon tape i couldn't help but notice it was some really lousy quality tape, i always have decent teflon tape on hand so i decided to use that instead with no leaks on my first test. the silicone gaskets were and still are of slight concern as this new burner is pretty powerful, in testing up to boil they held just fine but i'll be keeping spare high temp gaskets on hand just in case. all of those concerns were pretty moderate, the biggest concern was that it'd be thin and cheaply built, and i have to say i'm pretty pleased with the thickness of the pot, and as much as i'd like a thicker bottom i don't think it'll be detrimental to my brews and will definitely withstand a lot of brewing. idk if it's BIFL durable, but it'll definitely brew until my attention span has me scaling up to bigger batches and for me it makes more sense than buying at 300$+ pot

Very solid, excellent components, no leaks, no complaints
I wanted to step up from 2.5 gallon to 5 gallon batches so was looking for a new kettle and settled on this one because of the decent reviews and excellent price point. I must say, I just had my first brew day with this and I am very impressed. The construction is solid, the thermometer is accurate and incredibly helpful, and I used the valve to transfer the cooled wort into my fermenter (huge timesaver). I had read some reviews about leaking so used a LOT of teflon tape (10 times around each threaded part), then set it up in my basement full of water overnight to test the seals - it was great, there were no leaks then and none today while brewing. Highly recommended, I look forward to many more successful batches with this pot.

extremely difficult to seal w/ cheap silicone washers
7-14-19 (2nd update:) pot has developed a series of pin hole leaks after just 3 uses since i bought 18 months ago!! i always clean and put up after each use; was shocked to pull it out and fill with water and find these leaks. Note i was finally successful at getting it to stop leaking around the valve and thermometer using wide flange teflon washers and was finally happy with my pot. i hope iโm able to get some help from concord,,, weโll see? update: i rec'd my pot w/ a ding in the corner which was the original reason for 3 stars. other than that i was pleased w/ my pot as well as the valve that comes w/ it is very good quality. I read other reviews that complained about the inability to seal up the weldless fittings and how they've been unable to keep them from leaking. since i'm mechanically inclined and have done a lot of plumbing work in my day,,i dismissed their comments. Well,,,i've now been piddling w/ these fittings for more time than i'd care to admit and still have'nt been successful at stopping them from leaking. I took out 1/4" thick square plates and 3/4 bolts and tightened on each side to try and maybe create a flat area in the pot so the silicone washers can't squirt out like a tube of toothpaste as you tighten the nuts; since the pot is spring stainless steel,,this did'nt work. I lubricated the washers trying to tighten them before they squeeze out to no avail. It took me an hour or so to locate 3/4 " teflon (ptfe) washers at a reasonable price here on amazon,,which will hopefully solve the problem? I'm dumbfounded how others have been able to get this sytem from leaking and why Concord does'nt provide a better sealing method to go w/ such a high quality pot? I'm still waiting on these teflon gaskets now for a week and still havent been able to use this pot! If this does'nt work,,i'll be breaking out the torch and soldering these in place which i probably should have done to start w/,,,but that would have kinda defeated the purpose of spending a bit extra on one that can be taken loose and cleaning,,or so i thought! I will never remove these fitting for cleaning if i can get them sealed at all!
