It's a good book
It's a good book just wish it was a little more in-depth with details and stuff on hedgehogs but for the money it was worth it

This is a must if you are thinking about Hedgehogs
This book is well written and gives good information about Hedgehogs. Before getting or caring for Hedgehogs this is a must read.

Informative, down-to-earth read.
This is the only hedgehog book I've ever read, so I don't have anything to compare it to. It's very thorough and complete though, with extensive knowledge and information on the most complex issue of hedgehog care--feeding. I kind of wish that it mentioned more about whether or not you need heat lamps/heat pads to keep them at 'normal' comfortable-for-humans room temperatures, such as at 65-70 degrees. It does say that 70 is about the lower range, but doesn't exactly state that this is THE lowest and that effective measures should be taken to prevent this from being any lower. Also worth noting is that the book is soft-cover with weirdo photo-copied-looking pages with poor-quality color photos. Whenever I've seen it for sale at my store, it's always hard-covered with the normal glossy-looking pages, so I'm not sure if this book is 'legit' in that respect, like it's a back-alley edition. Other than that little caveat, it's a good read.

For my Daughter's First Hedgehog
Dottie. She was such a sweet little Hedgehog. My daughter wanted to learn everything she could to be a good owner and this book provides it all and has wonderful illustrations in it as well. This was the best book I could find about Hedgehogs (including their history) and how to care for them.

A bit disappointed.
I learned a little bit from this book (mostly dietary information) but learned a lot more from web articles. I decided to buy a book because I was hoping to pick up more information on socializing and training a hedgehog. For example, the book says "You can even train a hedgehog to ride in your pocket!". It doesn't tell you how to go about this though. So, I think it is probably enough to get start without killing the hedgehog, but I don't feel like it answered many of the personal interaction questions I had.
